🏈 Ohio State's schedule

QUESTION: If there are is an Undefeated Boise State and Ohio State, as well as a one loss Texas and Alabama (both having won their Conference Championship Game), who goes to the BCS? We boiled this down to a referendem on the Conference Championship Games. If Texas and Bama don't get in, then it only hurts the Conference's shot at playing in. Already having a strength of schedule element, playing that extra game has to count for something, and the BCS title game is the only place left to reward teams for playing them.

There are too many unknown variables to say which 2 teams would make it in your scenario (ie, we'd need a helluva lot more detail to even make a guess). One thing I can tell you for 100% certain, Ohio St would be one of the teams in the BCSNCG.

EDIT: Conference championship games are played for one reason only: MONEY.

last year, I believe Boise State only played 2 teams in the Sagarin Ratings Top 30 teams, where Bama played 7 or 8 (let me remind you this is part of the BCS formula). Also to note, Boise State is a whooping 6-15 against BCS teams in the last ~15 years since they stepped up into the FBS.

Personally I think VaTech is gonna whoop their ass and I'm pulling for VaTech.

Why is everyone so worried about the out of conference schedule? Last year the Tide took on Va Tech (ACC), Fl Int, North Tex, and UTC.

This year Bama has Penn State, San Jose St, Duke, and Ga State. In my opinion its better than last years. They still play an ACC school add a Big 10 and a WAC opponent. They may not be power houses but you cant schedule a top-25 team for every OC game. And with every school trying to schedule 12 regular season games you are going to have some UTC's and Ga States in that mix.

I think we all get that we can't play a ranked opponent in every non conference. Still, I'd like to lose the non BCS schools. To me Chattanooga a year ago was just as bad as Georgia State. Isn't there a future game with Georgia Southern as well?

I completely agree. All D1AA teams are a joke and I want us to stop scheduling them. But what's really the difference between Ga St and Western Carolina when you compare them to Bama? Nothing. Bama will slaughter both. That's why if we absolutely have to schedule a D1AA team, I don't mind helping out a former Bama coach.

Its simple math. The FBS has to schedule 12 regular season games. Thats 1440 possible games.

120 FBS schools
128 Div I (FCS)
155 Div II
239 Div III

Obviously there will be some bleed over from division to division. If this was the NFL with 30 teams you can make a reasonable 16 week schedule with one bye week.

I don't like scheduling D1AA, Ga St is more like a D3 team, so it should not have happened at all.
The NCAA should make it against rules to play a lower division school. As in, you can play it if you want, but it automatically makes you in-eligible for Bowl Game participation.
