šŸ“” Official Heisman finalists: Mac Jones, DeVonta Smith, Trevor Lawrence, & Kyle Trask

Honestly Mac or Devonta both deserver it. Najee has been a beast and has closed out his senior year as well as anyone that has played at Bama so I could vote for him also if I had a vote.

First I just want it to be a bama player and I will be happy for either that wins. I will have some sadness for the one that does not win.

When was the last time a nonQB/RB won the Heisman? I think Desmond was the last WR... I would love to see Smitty win.

Good call. Since 2000, there have been 2 non-QB’s win the award. You know those 2 very well!

1999 Ron Dayne, 1998 Ricky Williams and 1997.... Charles Woodson (the last non QB/RB). Then Desmond was the next one and the last WR (1991). Before him was Tim Brown (1987). Looooong time ago.

It would be great to see Mac, Devonta and Najee all as finalists. While Lawrence is a great QB and likely #1 pick in the NFL draft, what Heisman moment did he have?

did you not see ACC championship game?

the guy is unbelievable .....going to be a Manning type in nfl...

lost 1 game in Clemson career.....to burrow and lsu

best QB in CF........

.....but...ACC.....come...on....where was he even challenged....where was his moment ( agreeing with you @OldPlayer after not)........

I think he will win HT..... but if anyone watched SECCG...and watched Burrow...er ..i mean Mac....carve up Florida...and 10 games prior..... if they watched ....Mac is it

best QB in CF........
Just looking at the numbers and taking into account the games he's missed in which categories is he the best QB this season?

  • YPG avg - No.
  • Comp % - No.
  • Yards per att- No.
  • TD's - No. (Hell, he's 10 behind Mac with two fewer games and we both know he's not throwing five TD's in back to back games. He's only had one five TD game and only three four TD games in his career.)
  • INT's - No.
  • Rating - No.
  • Att/G - No.

You wanna go "eye test?" He can't hit a seam route consistently.

Literally, there's isn't a single measuring stick found this season that demonstrates he's the best QB in college football. In most cases he's barely a top 10 guy for 2020.

wanna look at his record?

did you see his command of game vs ND....

running...passing... he is the real deal...
You see that laser of an arm....
You say he cant hit a seam route... -1 then...mac cant break down a defense with his legs like TL can....-1

the stats dont help his cause because ofcovid......missed games......

Mac and trask are incredible ....mac is just a Joe Burrow reborn..
And both have the stats....
And mac has that HT game...vs Florida
But....
TL passed my eye test....

Hope ....you are right and didnt pass others....

I still don't see why TL is so loved. He's good but not great. And I don't think he's a can't miss in the NFL.
@TerryP
have to see if numbers and stats .....
or is it eye test.... running..leadership...andthat Aaron Rogers arm...

certainly a lot of different opinions here...

i see him as best...but missing the 2 games and Mac performances....

how things fall out....

I think Mac...but TL performance vs ND...scares me forMac

I'm glad someone else finally said what I've been saying for three years now. not dogging the guy or hope he fails, but this whole "just give him the trophy" crap that's been going on since high school gets on my nerves.

That's what I'm saying. Yes, he's good. But, a lot of QBs would be good in the ACC. His backup, with virtually no experience, nearly beat ND. Clemson really didn't perform differently with him or without him.

If I had a vote (and I certainly don't), I would vote for Devonta.

Mark Ingram and Derick Henry would like a word with you.
I think his point is we know the two after 2000 well, Ingram/Henry... he then listed the nonQBs prior to 2000. A bit fumbled in his wording, but I got it after a few reads.

Actually.....

Smith is deserving....but....if thos 3 QBs were not so damn good...
....they just stand out.....most bama folkes agree its Jones...
Most Clemson folkes agree its TL...
I think TL is best... but I think Mac is most deserving...
.....The ESPN group on tv yesterday.....on playoff show seemed to think its Mac...
I sure hope so....

Mac throws the best deep ball I've ever seen.

As for Trevor Lawrence... He may be the better NFL prospect, but I don't think he's the better College Football QB.

Is Mac or Trevor worthy... yes. Either could win and be a worthy pic. However, I give you Smitty that is the focus of every defense to try and stop since Waddle went down and none have done so EXCECPT Arky who basically gave up anything under 15 yards to keep the caps on any deep moves. We showed how we adjusted to that type of coverage in the UF game and Smitty got 15 catches a for a bunch of yards. So, while I would not say Trevor and/or Mac are game changers, I would say so for Smitty. Therefore, if I were voting I wouuld go that route.

Dont see how anyone could argue with all that....

Tua outshined Lawrence and now Mac has. Lawrence can't hold a candle to either when it comes to performance on the field. Factor in the weak scheduling of Clemson and it just adds more fuel to the Alabama fire that the past two quarterbacks under center have smoked him. Tua beats him twice if he doesn't get hurt and Mac beats him this year if we simply go off of stats and actual game time performance. Mind you, Lawrence has just as many weapons as Tua and Mac if it dares even going in that direction.

Trevor has benefitted from having a complete team around him and facing pathetic competition his whole career... and his numbers still aren't that good except win percentage (see the first part).

Put Trevor on ANY OTHER team EXCEPT Bama, and I think they'd call him a 3rd round guy. Sure, he can escape and run, but does that make someone the best qb in the country?
