An interesting sidelight to all of this is that for three of the eight that they lay claim to, they were on probation, (1957, 1958 and 1993) and thus ineligible for posr saeson or for consideration for the two major polls.

Jeebus, I could never imagine a situation where I would spend that much time and effort writing an article on another school, especially while trying to discredit AP National Titles. This is further proof that if it wasn't for The University of Alabama's football program, the barn fans would have nothing to talk about. They remind me of Red Sox fans whining about the Yankees, only difference is, the Red Sox have some recent hardware.
