But, I feel like I wouldn't have to focus so much on trying to teach and instill resiliency into young adults/Soldiers, if the prevailing culture in the US for the last generation and half did not feel or raise their children in the beliefs you expressed.
Haha what beliefs of mine exactly? That tantrums are unacceptable forms of communication? That you take responsibility for your behavior when you lose your composure and don't stay poised? That human performance improves more when you feel secure, loose, and confident?

Don't let leader worship change ordinary vocabulary. And let's not pretend that coaches don't routinely use psychological abuse and other manipulative tactics with their players. Doesn't mean it's justified.
I agree. Tell that to Coach, who was clearly being too sensitive to a player's mistake.
Own your mistakes and move on. It was a teaching moment on a couple of levels.
I agree. I hope someone points this out to Saban and he learns and moves on. By the way, I've been proud of his improved temperament over the years. I want to give him credit in that regard.
