Sponsors will want visibility - during the game broadcast and in photos
I'm only using your quote for context here.

I don't know if BYU has a deal with Ore-Ida. Assuming they do, or will, this is something I appreciate.

Putting this closer to home. The KFC Yum! Center is where Kentuckly plays basketball. UK already has a sponsorship deal; have for awhile. Now, imagine the same concept with UK and KFC as we see here with BYU and Ore-Ida.

Kentucky plays in Rupp Arena in Lexington. Louisville plays in KFC Yum! Center in Louisville.

It dawned on my late last night. I was thinking about Kroger and UK football...then I fell off the cliff.

My point still remains. While my first example was a befuddled, I'm going with it here.

UK has a deal with Kroger. Louisville has one with KFC. It's next season for basketball and the two are scheduled to meet again. There are A LOT of possibilities both companies can use these deals to get A LOT of exposure.

In the "corporate sponsorship" era we are living in right now I find these kinds of possible relationships good for the fans and schools, and their athletic programs.

Again....WHY????

Why are they good...?.....they sound like selling out to me.....
Public universities....buying images....slamming their name on something that belongs to us...

There a lot i will have to quit trying to understand as life moves forward...

WHY??????
Why did Kroger come to mind last night? Er, the name of the field where UK plays football.

Sounds like they are selling? I'm sorry, but what? I'm honestly confused as to your question. "It sounds like they are selling" in a discussion about company logo's on uniforms?

Seeing a good outcome here shouldn't be difficult given the example I posted in this thread: "If BYU wins people get discounts on 'Tater Tots." That's a good deal for fans who eat 'Tater Tots," it's a good deal for Ore-Ida with exposure, and it's a good deal for the athletic program because they are getting paid.

Now, if something similar was done with Kroger and your groceries? How would that NOT be a good idea? Literally, everyone wins.

I don't go "kroger-ing" lol

I guess i am just more ... something??
I see NASCAR guys n cars......
I cringe thinking a Bama team uniform looking ljke that.......Already see all the advertisements around stadium. Now on field.......Soon on uniforms....,,
I think.... really!!! Where n when does it stop

How much is too much? Can the ROI for field AND uniform logos be worth it? I'm sure there are protections so that Publix can't be the uniform sponsor. The field sponsorship gets exposure literally every play along with the announcers saying the name multiple times throughout the broadcast. Uniform logos can't be seen via the camera showing the offense/defense alignment.

I think.... really!!! Where n when does it stop
Group A: I can't believe they are raising ticket prices.
Group B: Do you remember when they moved our seats?
Group C: It is what it is; I'm quitting.
Group D: They complain about ticket prices, they complain about the NIL, they complain about the University finding funding...then complain about the product they are complaining about how its financed. And then, to cap it off, they ...

You might not go to Kroger. People in Kentucky do shop there. If there was a discount on groceries and was linked to UK athletics as well...it's a win, win, and a win. There's good there in a world that is murky, at best.

You may not eat KFC. I certainly don't. But if I did, and a school through their sponsorship offered discounts when events happened, I'd take advantage of those. Louisville fans would do the same. KFC wins. UL wins. Fans with horrible eating habits win.
