🏈 news media not showing Tide Love?

Welcome to the forum.

What more are they going to say that hasn't been said already? You won't hear a lot of media attention until LSU week, especially if neither team drops a loss until then. UT sucks. TAMU might be interesting. Auburn is a dumpster fire worse than Arky. MSU should get some love and talk but most media is waiting for the "rematch of the century" all over again. Personally I don't want us to get any more attention.

Lets see, Miss State is number 12, TAMU is like 19, LSU is in the top 5, then Florida (if they win out) will be number 2 or 3 by the time we face them in the SECCG. At this point, I really don't care what they say, if Alabama does their job each and every week, then pound Tennessee and Auburn to bits, we'll be in the national championship again.

All of this sort of reminds me of '92 though, with all the "you haven't played anyone yet" talk..

There's a guy here in town that has one of those old Toyota small pickup trucks. It's been at least two years since I've talked to him though I see the truck often. He uses shoe polish and updates how many miles he has on his truck every time he passes another 10K miles. The last time I saw him he had 820,000 miles on the truck. He and his truck are subject of conversation all over town with anyone who sees him.

My next door neighbor has an older pickup truck from Toyota as well. He's getting close to 300K on his. It starts every morning. Isn't a fancy truck by any stretch of the imagination. It just does what it's supposed to do; run and run efficiently.

After six games if we are still undefeated we'll be talked about in the world of college football just like the guy who owns the first truck. We'll be a team you have seen before in the BCS era.

Right now, we're the other guy. We are just doing what we've been doing the last several years. We do what we are supposed to do each time we take the field.

You want Bama to be front and center in the news now? It'll take a loss. Otherwise, we just aren't doing anything that is new. We are simply an efficient football team doing what we are supposed to be doing.

I got upset Saturday when our offensive line had its second holding call. Why? I recall where we finished the last 8 or 9 games a few years ago without a single one being called.

It's Sabanitis. He expects perfection. I'm doing my part and expecting the same. Yah, that's unrealistic expectations...wait, we've done it before.

Has anyone else noticed the lack of talk about the Tide by news media? What is it? Are they just tired of us?

Welcome Obbie!

I think the talk has leaned a little towards, hey they are the best lets talk about who is number 2. And I am sure there is also some that are tired of seeing the Tide at #1. I attended a wedding during the bye week and my wife's uncle who is a So Cal fan and his son who is a big Ohio State fan were joking with me about Alabama. I said hey until someone takes it from them they are #1. Deal with it. :)

there also is a lot of uncertainty about 3-4 SEC teams right now. it is true, IMO, that Alabama is yet to play a very good team. but what are the chances that we can go through the entire season without facing a "very good team". that may depend solely on your opinion of Miss St., LSU and Tamu.. the problem is... .they are largely unknowns as well. lsu and fla have both had wins that made a statement. fla over lsu and lsu over soco.... the other three unknowns, Bama, miss st. and tamu haven't done a whole lot yet that really makes media pundits salivate...

but the next few weeks will sort all that out and they'll be talking about the right team(s) then.

it is still my opinion that LSU is not all that and missy st. has the best shot at Alabama. their position on the schedule is also tricky.

That reminds me of a story.

On the way back from New Orleans in 1992 there was a car pulled off to the side of the road on I-59N with "13-0 and we still haven't played anybody yet" written on the back window.

If games go as they have and continue to do so through Miami?

There will be plenty of people talking the week of the LSU game. By Monday morning of the next week? Hell, if Oregon drops their game to USC the same weekend who knows what team they'll be talking about?

With our off week last week and not being challenged or stressed during a game, there isn't much for them to talk about.
Let's see what happens when Alabama wins a game by only a touchdown, or heaven forbid, three or four points.
Then, there will be plenty of talk about Alabama and how prone we are to being beaten....and they could be right.

I'm surprisingly wanting to see Bama be challenged before we get into a REALLY big game, i.e. can the utters scare us a little bit this weekend or can MissySissyState take us to the edge late in the game playing ball control?
Does Miles figure out a way to make his offense click by Nov 3rd?

Some team with the tools is going to want it more than us this year at kickoff. How does this team respond?

On one hand, I don't want to see us struggle at all. On the other hand, that struggle is coming eventually this year.
How will the younger players handle it? I for one am ready to see what The Tide looks like when we have to claw and someone has to step up and make 'that play'.
If we're to win another NC this year, we are going to have 'that game'.

That's when Alabama becomes the talk of the college football world again, win or lose.

I noticed on one of the ESPN channels on Sanday that they just showed one highlight from the game and then they went to the other games and they would show about 6 or 7 plays

The main reason I am guessing was because the other games were more competitive and not one sided

Welcome the site and roll tide
