Welp...tough year for us, but my Im trying to temper my optimism for next year....once again we hopefully ink a top ranked class in the next month and maybe just maybe we get new OC and DC. Quarterback development will be a determining factor but should be no excuse for not reaching the four team playoff next year,,,,,( fingers crossed)

We’re playing in a NYE bowl, was a pretty good year. I do understand the expectations of NC

100% new OC. I'd put it at 90% new DC. Several other staff changes and a bit of a shift of offensive philosophy back to a more physical style which Saban has teased in recent weeks. Hopefully, Bama can hit big like they have in the past via the transfer portal to plug some gaps and shore up depth at a couple of spots while finishing strong in signing day(s). And in the spring, I'm betting we see more development on the field that carries over into fall.

How many coaching job are left? How many of the staff will be leaving to take another job? I know one is leaving with Sanders.

He’s going away from the spread, RPO, style offense?

He's said publicly that this year they went heavier pass and more pro style and went away from the RPO some to play to Bryce's strengths (also because that was BoB's strengths IMO). Said next year, it'll be more RPO heavy. He's been wanting to shift back more of a physical running attack too, which I think we will see. They'll still throw it around, it isn't going to be Alabama 2008, but I'd expect a more competent, between the tackles running game. OL will be challenged.

I mean, Georgia has made it work, so we should as well. Clock management and I think getting back to bigger and stronger players should be our goal. I think we bought in too much to ALL of the changes in college football and got away from our bread and butter which is just kicking someone's ass straight up. To me, Saban is not a finese coach, he's a knock the crap out of you coach.

Yeah, I think there needs to be some balance. And I think UGA has it right by getting some elite TE's lately too... something Bama has lacked...

Not a bad year Sir. We are 10-2 and playing in the Sugar Bowl as the #5 team, which is good considering 3 weeks ago I felt this team would be lucky to make it to 9-3.
Relative to our success in the last decade I see it as a tough year, but yes you are correct compared to 90 % of the other programs out there, its been a good year.

I'm completely down for an offensive change. Let's get a new DC(Schumann, please God) and go back to being a dominant physical team. Do not have to completely get rid of the things we've done the past 5-6 years, but let's be a bit more balanced.

Likely new coordinators and QB. Big time challenge for CNS.

I like the idea of becoming more physical. On the lines, it's a must. The only place the team plays physical is at DB, where it's not allowed.

Probably the most unknown's coming into next season that I can remember in a long time. Aside from Jacory Brooks, I can't think of anything that really got sorted out at WR. Seems like Bond might be next up? RB's with Jase and Roydell "should" be solid... Though not ground breaking.

The D LIne and OLB's just need to play better in the big games. Not sure if that's more of a coaching or schematic issue, I think the talent has been there though. That will make life easier on the back 7, for sure.

CNS has always found a way to mold with the times... Next year will be his biggest challenge. Hard to bet against him!

Not as physical on defense because we don’t practice vs a hard nose offense everyday. Playing offense to Bryce’s skill set pussified the defense, IMO.

It has definitely had an impact on the OL and their (hate this word >>>) physicality. You can't just run that style of offense, then flip a switch and say, "let's maul 'em". One of the few decencies we've seen during this pass happy offensive attack has been the inability to get tough yards even in 3rd/4th/goal line and very short situations. That needs to change and I think it will. It's those types of things that are on Saban's football team toughness barometer.

2008! My kind of team. IMO, they weren't all that good, but just knocked the other team in the mouth, on both sides of the ball, until they quit. Finally ran up against one, Florida, that was tough enough to take it, and another, Utah, that didn't stand still long enough to get hit in the mouth.

Offense was and is good enough to win out..and would be with BOB

But the D has got to improve....so many bust...so much in poor position...poor coverage by dbs....12 on field at critical time ( see lsu 2 point )...on and on....
BY offense couldn't overcome bad D ( regardless of stats it was bad at critical times..see giving tn with ball...which shouldnt have happened...with 17 seconds and d backfield 30 yards cushion..TWICE)

Improvement is critical

Which is why it is very puzzling that Saban thinks Pete is doing a “really really good job”. CNS did not get to be the goat unless he was waaaay smarter than everyone else so that leads me to think there is more to this story than we know.
