šŸ“” Nebraska has contacted Urban Meyer.

Don’t believe it. He would be the worst person for Nebraska. Since there won’t be any coach hiring for several months (what type of coach doesn’t have a job right now? The kind that’s been fired and has issues preventing his hiring) any speculation is worthless.

...he ran from Saban once. Hard to imagine he would come back and risk further humiliation.
He would only do that if he somehow felt Saban was slipping so he has a better chance of beeting him. He will not challenge him unless he thinks that is the case. He has to think he can claim he brought Saban down for his ego. Opinion of course but you know he has an ego....

I would like to see Urban go to Nebraska. If nothing more, just to see him do it. He has won everywhere he has coached. Bowling Green to OSU.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like Urban, but the guy can coach and he can win. I think if he went to Nebraska, it would be his toughest test. At Bowling Green and Utah, he was not landing five star recruits, but he was playing in leagues and opposing talent that was not either. At FU and OSU he landed the cream of the crop in talent and played against such. He would not be getting the best athlete to Lincoln, that is why I would like to see his teams competing and see what happens.

It's almost like the rumor a few years back about Saban going to Texas. I often wonder what he would have done out there..........not with the teams, but the boosters. He would have told a few of those oil tycoons what they can do with their money and their program.

Jacksonville?

Jacksonville?
Touche'

I see that as apples and oranges. Saban didn't light it up his 2 years in the NFL either. They are both old school and draw from the fact of control. ie, do the right thing (go to class, make good grades, don't be a dumbass) and you play. I see Power 5 CFB going the way of NFL in a lot of ways as to how the coaches will have to manage the players and their egos. I believe CFB still has some modicum of "coaches control", but that is slipping away every time there is a new NIL deal.
