🏈 NCAA looking into UT use of recruiting hostesses

More..

A significant part of the investigation is focused on the use of recruiting hostesses who have become folk heroes on Tennessee Internet message boards for their ability to help lure top recruits.

In one case, hostesses traveled nearly 200 miles to attend a high school game in South Carolina in which at least three Tennessee recruits were playing.

Marcus Lattimore, a running back who made an unofficial visit to Tennessee but said he would not enroll there, said multiple Tennessee hostesses attended a game at James F. Byrnes High School in Duncan, S.C., in September. He said they brought signs, including one that read, "Come to Tennessee."
"I haven't seen no other schools do that," he said. "It's crazy."

I will say that when I was being recruited by the University, I had a smoking hot hostess and I was more than willing to come to BAMA just to see her walking around again. How can anyone not think this is illegal for them to drive 200 miles to see some high school kid play a game?

Here you go.

It's a staff full of foulmouthed scumbags, it was only a matter of time until something of this nature occured.

With that being said, I saw a picture of some of them and it was indeed an unfair advantage.

do these "hostesses" provide the players with a "good time" ?

My first thought was who sprang for this trip.normally highschool games are played at night .Did they spend the night (motel expense)
Did they have meals the night of the game and the next morning.
Gasoline for a round trip .Thats what the NCAA is going to look into.
Hey maybe they are lil rich girls ,But i know when my son was at Bama
he and alot of his friends couldnt afford to takeoff on trips like that without help from someone .HMMMMM:headscratch:

In 1998 at the end of the calendar year as I cleaned out my desk to leave the job I had at the time, my boss said, "You know how Bama won in 1992? They cheated. Tennessee is going to win next week, and it will be earned."

If I remember correctly I had the last of my things and I walked past him and said, "See ya." I don't think I even entertained a response. I'm glad I was on to bigger and brighter things during the Fiesta Bowl the next week. Guys, if anyone ever wonders why I hope we beat ut every year, look no further than this response. And, if the ut athletic program as a whole got the death penalty, I would throw a party.

Things go on "up on the hill", and they will come out eventually. Maybe this is the beginning.
