📝 NATIONAL SIGNING DAY: 2017

Pretty sure he's been wanting to be in the class for a while now.... AKA he's been slow played and still wants to commit.
One, we don't know if he had a committable offer.
Two, if we assume that he did, why did he draw it out until NSD?
Three, he had a committable offer from FSU. Why didn't he take that?
Four, he's known for weeks, if not months, the room was tight.

But, let's go back to your slow play theory. If that was the case and he knew is spot was contingent on what someone else does should he not have had a back-up plan?

If the staff did tell him to hold on, hold on, and then jerked the offer it's sort of the same deal with Philon, but certainly not identical.

Bottom line with me. No one knows what the deal is now, yesterday, or tomorrow. I'm just going to wait and see.

Now for the back nine.

Hmm, the article I read about him stated he was joining his new school this summer and sitting out 2017 as a transfer.
"He knows it won’t be easy to sit out the 2017 season as a transfer, but he intends to embrace the year of practice."

I've not seen that article. I was of the understanding he was eligible.

1. We don't know if he had a committable offer
-True. Which means giving the kid sh*t for not committing early is silly (which was my original point)

2. If he did - Why did he draw it out?
-He clearly wants to be at Alabama, hence the tears and delay, which means he probably didn't have a committable offer yet

3. He had a committable offer from FSU - Why didn't he take it.
-Again, he clearly wants to be at Alabama

4. But, let's go back to your slow play theory. If that was the case and he knew is spot was contingent on what someone else does should he not have had a back-up plan?
-Who say's he doesn't?

5. If the staff did tell him to hold on, hold on, and then jerked the offer it's sort of the same deal with Philon, but certainly not identical.
-Yep.

I'm pretty comfortable taking the kids side on most of these situations. This is a top 150 kid. If Alabama was telling him they didn't want him or to move on, he would have. It's that simple. Clearly he thought there was a decent chance he would be committing to UA, or at least have an answer this morning up until the last minute. No kid is going to purposely embarrass themselves crying on stage... but we've seen kids put in this situation by Saban & staff before. You're smart enough to do the math.

Not saying it's right or wrong, it's business. I feel for the kid.

also did yall see the I think it was Chris Allen talk about when LSU fired Les he moved to Bama. They played the interview while les was on the pannel on ESPN. They went right to Les and asked about that. I was proud of Les he didnt bash LSU. Just said, "he was a great recruit. We were after him hard. He is very good friends with my son. Kid had spent the night at there house and swam in our pool. We loved that kid. Bama got a great player with him." Took the high road but it obvious he was telling LSU they screwed the pooch.
