📝 NATIONAL SIGNING DAY: 2017

I read a comment this week from a guy who'd interviewed Mathis on sevearl occasions. One of the things he pointed out was how serious he (Mathis) presents himself. If I recall correctly, the exact wording was "a no-nonsense kid."
BTW, continuing on this theme.

Ray won't be announcing on ESPN. He told his coaches he didn't want any more exposure than his teammates...that is, unless someone does the FB live, or Periscope.

I've used just about every resource I have to come up with these final predictions. I've talked to every source, every writer who covers the other programs in consideration, etc... I don't wear crimson and white colored glasses when making predictions.

I try to make the best prediction (one each recruit) with the information at hand. There are definitely some who could end up going elsewhere. I may get some wrong. It happens. This is the best I believe I can predict in regards to the remaining targets as we head into Wednesday.

Final predictions

LaBryan Ray, Rivals100 defensive end from James Clemens High School in Madison, Alabama
Announcement time:
11:30 a.m.
The contenders: Alabama, Florida, Tennessee
Final thoughts: I think Florida and Tennessee did a really good job recruiting the best player in Alabama. This was not as stone cold of a lock as Ben Davis or Mack Wilson were last year. Bama wins in the end.
BONE prediction: Alabama

Henry Ruggs, four-star wide receiver from Lee High School in Montgomery, Alabama
Announcement time:
10:00 a.m.
The contenders: Alabama, Florida State
Final thoughts: Ruggs sent all on a roller coaster ride on Tuesday. He was considered a lock for Bama especially after he made a trip to Tuscaloosa on Sunday. FSU may have started looking attractive to him, but I believe the home team pulls him in on Wednesday.
BONE prediction: Alabama

DeVonta Smith, Rivals100 wide receiver from Amite High School in Louisiana
Announcement time:
2:00 p.m.
The contenders: Alabama, Florida State, LSU
Final thoughts: It doesn't appear the loss of Billy Napier will cause Smith to go elsewhere. Bama appears in very good shape.
BONE prediction: Alabama

Aubrey Solomon, five-star defensive tackle from Lee County High School in Leesburg, Georgia
Announcement time:
9:00 a.m. (ESPNU)
The contenders: Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, USC
Final thoughts: Solomon has certainly created a lot of drama in the last few weeks. Nobody seems to have a grasp on what he will do tomorrow. It has appeared like an Alabama-Michigan battle for a while. This afternoon I heard it may be an Alabama/UGA battle, and this evening a UGA/Michigan battle. Did Kirby really create a monster smoke screen? I'm sticking with my original thought. Maybe I'm wrong.
BONE prediction: Michigan

Jarez Parks, four-star defensive end from Sebastian River High School in Florida
Announcement time:
Around 9:00 a.m.
The contenders: Alabama, Tennessee, ?
Final thoughts: Parks fell on the recruiting boards for Florida and Florida State. He will likely land at Bama if they miss on Solomon.
BONE prediction: Alabama

Jedrick Wills, five-star offensive tackle from Lafayette High School in Lexington, Kentucky
The contenders:
Alabama commitment, Kentucky
Final thoughts: Kentucky has made a really strong push in the last few days for Wills. He spoke to Alabama on Monday and Tuesday. Alabama is not expecting a surprise on Wednesday. Kentucky still is under the belief they have a chance.
BONE prediction: Alabama

Just a few other predictions on players who visited Bama

Chris Henderson, four-star cornerback from Columbus High School in Miami, Florida
The contenders:
Alabama, Florida, Miami
Final thoughts: Alabama is not taking another defensive back in this class.
BONE prediction: Florida

Todd Harris, four-star safety from Plaquemine High School in Louisiana
The contenders:
Alabama, Arizona State, LSU, TCU
Final thoughts: Once again, Alabama is not expected to take another DB
BONE prediction: LSU

Here's where it gets a little interesting. Juedy and Smith have played corner. Do they get a look on defense?

Jeudy is coming in with more accolades than Ridley. But Harris isn't a bad consolation prize either. If Solomon continues to trend on into the night, what about the JUCO kid that was committed to USCe? Would he be a better get than Parks at this point?

When you're reading tea leaves, you take a good look at everything. YawYaw is getting into his billboard routine again. This year he's apparently going to put up his welcome billboards everywhere his recruits are from.

SEC Country - LSU Billboards

As you mentioned earlier, the time is just about up with this cryptic dance these recruits do and with Mathis, we're about 4 hours from putting away our decoder ring.
Just came across this.

Do LSU billboards tip off Mathis’ decision?

LSU will once again use billboards to promote its football signees throughout the region on Wednesday.

Interestingly, the school will have three billboards in Monroe.

This is interesting because at the moment, the Tigers do not have a committed player from Monroe. However, LSU is a finalist — along with Alabama and TCU — for the signature of Neville defensive tackle Phildarian Mathis.

BONE prediction guesses: Michigan
Got a note from a guy I know in GA that's been hearing Bama. He's still not sure.

And one small edit there ...

He's saying the same thing I've been wondering for a few days about Goff playing games.

Kinlaw? I'm pretty sure he's out of the picture. At least, that's what I'd been told over the weekend. The one I've been told to watch...

One name to keep in mind is Breiden Fekoko.
