I would almost agree with your pick, but he and Darius Hanks looked awesome last year in the spring game as well.......I do hope Maze continues to light it up this fall, but I'm going to go with Bama425 on this one.
I think Colin Peek stands to surprise us all. He is what 9 foot 4 and 624 pounds? He really has good hands and with his wing span provides some additional needed blockage on the o-line. I say he ends up being like Ingram was for us last year.
I'll go defensive and say Marcel Dareus. I know he doesn't technically start but he'll get plenty of chances with our rotation of D-linemen.
On the offense I'll go with Vlachos at Center. We're going to need someone to step up big time there and I think he has the tools to be a anchor for us. Even though Johnson will likely be the leader of the O-line, the Center also has to show leadership.
I'm going with Maze. We've got a lot of potential for breakout players on this team, so this wasn't an easy pick, but Maze really impressed me at A-Day.
"Everybody was doing their own thing, not really focused, last year," said McCoy, the team's second-leading receiver with 16 catches for 324 yards. "But this year, there's a lot of closeness, togetherness. Everybody has each other's back."
"There's been a lot more depth within this past year (with) the wide receiving corps where you can make it very difficult for a defense to cover one guy," tight end Colin Peek said. "That (hindered) us (offensively) at some points with Julio getting the ball so much, even though he's an incredible athlete. Spreading the ball around gives us more firepower."
"Me and Greg, we came in together, and we've always been close," McCoy said. "With J.P. and I, we weren't as close. Me and Greg, we hang out together, we go eat together, he'll come over to my place, I'll go over to his apartment. It's different."
I'm gonna say the whole dang team because I believe they want to be just as good, if not better, than last year. Plus, with that big target on their backs that CNS talks about, it's about winning to survive and surviving to win. JMO.
Plus, I agree with everything that everybody has posted and I can't pick just one.
Rolando has a year like Ryans senior year. Im pumped about this kid and the potential he has. Here to a great year at the MLB position and hopefully he will stay for his senior season.
I'm going with Greg McElroy. I think this guy has had time to learn the system and he's itching to be the leader for this team. I look for for some pretty good numbers being put up by him because the OL will surprise all of the talking heads and perform better than they expect. GMc very well be one of those playmakers that CNS has talked about.
