Miss state will pin their ears back and blitz often which will sometimes pay off and look bad for Bama. Other times it will mean huge chunks of yardage for our backs.

My only concern in this game is Tua's health with the knee. WE really need the QB to be able to run a bit more in this one. Read-option would be so helpful against the castrators....

Its going to be tough for us to cover the spread coming off a big, emotional win in Baton Rouge. Everyone brings their A game when they play us because nothing would be better for that particular school or in the eyes of the country than Bama going down. Remember how everyone wanted USCw to lose and for us older folks, Nebraska in the 90's and Miami in the 80"s?

What’s Going To Happen
Be very, very, very careful with this.

The timing is right for an Alabama clunker.

It’s beaten up a bit – from Tagovailoa’s knee, to Harris’s ankle, to dealing with a physical win over LSU – and it’s way overdue for a little bit of an exhale. There’s no down game in this program and under this coach, but … Alabama is in the SEC Championship now. Coming off the emotional road win, there can’t help but be a wee bit of a let down.

But the talent will come through, and the Tide will get the win and keep on rolling. However, it’s about to deal with a defense that can hold up, and Fitzgerald will be an issue.

Expect this to be a bit more of a fight than we’ve seen so far.

I disagree with this...

This team, more than any other Saban team, seems to have full belief in the idea of playing up to your standard. I don't think a single player on the team feels it matters who they are playing, what the score is or what the records are. I have full faith that they will play to the standard they have set for this game and every remaining game this season.

Gosh I hope #13 is on today. Can't allow State to get or grow confidence they can win this game. Not allowing State to run the clock while making 3rd downs over and over with their running game is key. I expect them to take several shots down the field in the passing game as well since they have nothing to lose.

Did I just hear them say on GameDay that State has been talking a little. Even saying they like their match ups with their D against our O up front? Really? State is gonna poke the bear too?

Don't get me wrong, I think their D is probably stronger than LSU up front, but their secondary is not. Lsu spent the whole game blitzing and we still picked their hallowed secondary apart. I just don't see State faring any better. Add in that their O is super iffy. We keep the qb in check and they probably don't score. My thoughts anyway. What do you guys think?

JMO but I believe this game will be a real struggle that will go on until the 4th qtr. We need #13 to be ON today. Need to get out of the gate fast.

They always play up to us. Kind of like Vandy. There have been many years we made people think Vandy was good. Lol. I still don't see them having the manpower to pull this off. I think this may be a pass first to set up the run game though. I don't think they have the depth on D to go toe to toe for the whole game though. They have 2 guys on the d line that are a problem...they still have to get to Tua. Not an easy task as evidenced against LSU last week. They brought 6 guys at times and he still evaded and completed. Screens... like we saw very sparingly against LSU might be on the menu for us today. More of the jet sweeps too. Maybe I am wrong, I just don't see them staying with us in this game. The BARN game is a bit scary to me.
