What's the thought of the average Bama fan on this kid's time at Bama? Griff Redmill said the other day that he's largely been a bust. I don't remember him as a recruit/frosh but it seems it was thought he was supposed to be a great TE? He said watching MW in camp made him think he had all the skills and physical gifts to be a monster and stopped just short of calling him a flop.
Has he been more a victim of the depth chart or an actual problem? Seems like Bama has been fairly solid at TE lately.
I am not at all trying to flame or be "that guy." I tend to think he's been a victim of very good play in front of him that limited his opportunities. I'd never heard anyone complain about him. Am I that out of touch?
I'll take a stack of pancakes with that opinion...tell him to share it with his posse.
Both have similar backgrounds in the point they were defensive lineman who ended up on the offensive line.
I'd be curious as to what he considers a bust. How is that defined in his eyes? Does he use the performance of the offensive line in 2000 as a barometer? If so, I'll give him this. He knows what it feels like to be a part of a bust.
Michael is entering his senior year. As part of our Ace formation he's primarily a blocking tight end. Hmm, let's see how that has ended up. He's been a part of the least penalized offensive line in his time at Bama. He's been a part of the leading rushing unit in the SEC as a Jr. in that TE position. The offense with the fewest sacks allowing in 2011? Oh chit! Here we go again! It's the OL that Williams has been a part of.
Well damn. Here I am becoming a little lost for words. Where is it he hasn't done his job?
Griff may have a high opinion of the job he did as a Jr. If he has one for his senior year, it's a delusion. In fact, even though he may have a high opinion of his time as a junior playing left guard I might remind him of one fact. It was Chris Samuels that Alexander was running behind, not Redmill.
So I guess I'm going to fall into the category as one who thinks Williams has done his job. Sure, he still has his senior year in front of him so there's another year to judge him by...but, I can say this without a doubt.
Redmill did not do his job his senior year. It hardly gives him room to talk. I suspect the point Travis Reier gave him a voice on 247 may have gone to his head. It would be his MO.
