What is this ESPN and Memphis buzz going on? I know it's about the Auburn recruit and grade change but rumors are that something big and bad may be released middle of the week. Possibly including MSU. Have also seen some say us and Georgia involved but not sure what is to believe. I figured some of you would know at least what is being speculated and who all it involves. Anyone know the scoop?

I would hope to God we are not involved in anything but would love to see the Barn burn into petrified ash.

Memphis buzz??

The local sports radio here has not elaborated much other than to say that the lady who changed his transcript has resigned but will not say who asked her to change the transcript.

Havent heard a word.
I hadn't either until I was browsing a barn forum and they are doom and gloom over it. Then I saw some mentions of possibly us and UGA. It's out there and gaining Internet buzz. I'm just wondering if some of the insiders on here can shed any light and if we are in the clear of any issues since it is supposedly about multiple SEC schools.

Phillip Marshall (a huge auburn sunshine pumper) and a few others are keeping a tight lip othe than saying "it doesn't sound good" (meaning Auburn). Then hearing it's about the 7 on 7 camp stuff which did mention us a little while back. Just kind of all over the place depending on where you rear it. It's on all the other boards but varies, as rumors and speculation do. Some say bought car, huge check amounts, auburn alumni giving rides to a recruit, hooker parties, you name it. Some say this is originating out of UT Since AU Came into Memphis for a recruit. Doesn't sound good for the barn that's for sure....

Phillip~please tell me that this stuff about this ESPN supposedly releasing bad stuff on us is not true. I don't think I can take anymore negative stuff
I wish i could tell you that. I don't know for sure what it is, but what I'm hearing doesn't sound good.

I know the Jones brothers are from the Memphis area but they are an exception to a corrupt area. I wish we would steer clear with the exception of those rare few. The place is just trouble.

In their case, they went to a very prestigious, private school. Not too many of those kids have poor grades if any. The City school system, on the other hand, bad bad bad.

One of the rumors I'm hearing is that the alleged report that could possibly be damaging to MSU, Auburn, and a couple of other schools is going to be coming from Yahoo Sports writers Charles Robinson and Pat Forde. The other two schools in the rumor were going to be either Alabama, UGA, and/or Ole Miss.

Heard this on Finebaum from a caller, so not sure how much weight to put on it. Finebaum did say that he was pretty sure Robinson and Forde were working on something that would come out soon, but he wouldn't or couldn't say what it was about other than it involved Memphis.

What is being said about Ole Miss? I wonder if it was during Nutt era when he signed like a gazillion kids that year?

Ole Miss has been buying players for a while, but nobody really cares that much because they still suck. And as most know, this is the SEC. We are all dirty... But some take it wayyyy too far, kinda like we did under Dubose. It's about to catch up with the programs Terry mentioned to a degree, just like it caught up with us.

An article ran in the Commercial Appeal today about Will Redmond (he played at East High in Memphis). This coach says he witnessed a booster for Miss. State give Redmond $200.

And until they somehow make it a criminal offense, this kind of stuff will NEVER stop, and it's just a matter of time before it bites BAMA, too many egos out there thinking they are helping the program

Yes sir, you are correct. If you think it is not a problem at your school or for your team, think again. It happens everywhere! If it were to be made criminal, the boosters would just pay a middle man to do their dirty work, I just don't see it ever going away. :shake:

They already do, that's why it's harder to nail folks. Folks have evolved... and the real smart ones have gotten out of the cash and cars game... that's so 20th century... :icon_lol:

It won't be a criminal offense.

Supposedly this isn't the last article. Last thing I heard was something else was in the works and State won't like it. Bama, AU and UGA (I think was the 3rd school) supposedly had some secondary violations coming to light. Then again, we also heard the hammer was falling on us for more than a year, Maybe give it two weeks?
