I agree that he broke a rule that he knew was there, but college athletes are not all treated the same in the what is allowed and what isn't.
I rodeoed in high school and got a full ride two year scholly to rodeo for Tarleton State. While going to college I was able to rodeo professionally and make money that way and also have sponsors that gave benefits like paying entry fees, free gear, tickets to different things, paid for appearances during state rodeo finals, national high school finals, different western stores while also competing in college and remaining a college athlete.
So, to me it is ignorant for a college rodeo athlete to be able to do all those things and make money and receive benefits, but the. A college football athlete charge for his autograph and not be able to compete because of some stupid amatuer status thing that doesn't apply to all college athletes.
