šŸˆ LSU vs Bama cancelled for this weekend.

Why did we ever dislike this guy?
I liked him fine until he failed to do his job in the run up to the championship game. He’s since admitted he behaved childishly so my dislike has diminished somewhat. Nevertheless, his actions cost Bama another national title and I won’t forget that anytime soon. I’m still angry over the way the pollsters treated Bama in 66 and 77 so it takes a while for me to forget missing out on NC’s.

That, and the fact that his team has quit on him. It all made it easier to make that phone call to Sankey and say, "muh numbers! Contact tracing, COVID!" You can bet your ass that had they been sitting at 5-1 or 6-0, not one word would've been said about any positive tests. Easy to use Covid as a "cop out" when your season is a dumpster fire. There were HS's here in the AHSAA that finished their regular seasons having only played 6,7, or 8 games. Their win totals, 0,1, or 2. Easy to fold up and take up gear if you have nothing to play for.
This summarizes an Orgeron ran program. The players see his example (he is a used car salesman). His behavior after winning the NC and now him not instilling discipline in his team when times are very difficult will erode his support and ultimately his teams competitiveness on the field. We all know where that ultimately leads to.

While I don't put it past programs to purposely mislead for their benefit... I'd like to point out that the NCAA testing regiments are pretty serious. I haven't read/heard/seen specific details of how LSU would or could have skated around that process, but I can say confidently that in general the NCAA is really detailed and strict in how the testing and tracking is being executed (or supposed to be). So to me, that type of allegation should come with some legit evidence. Because it goes beyond just some lost scholarships, we're talking about the training and medical staffs being fired and/or potentially losing careers!

Yeah I think the real issue is that the players did not maintain the discipline needed or as Saban would call it create their own personal bubble.

Well.. I think there is a big difference between college kids/players just not abiding strict discipline and living life like they would be regularly (perhaps as an Alabama player, or more. has done), and a coaching & medical staff being in cahoots to purposely mislead people.

Brandon Avalos ...a true dual threat....he could beat your team or ours

That doesn't get an ounce of sympathy from me. I remember all too well seeing Bama start Spencer Pennington and a slew of other backups.

Next man up. What a season. Fran classlessly leaves town, Price signs his class and shows none, and Shula comes in. Shula suspends his number 3 after injuries to 1 and 2.

You're trying to make one glove fit all here. It doesn't work for a number of reasons.

One, the NCAA has no testing regiment. Two, what the protocols for the SEC are don't match that of the ACC, or B1G, or PAC. The closest might be the Big12 but theirs is still different.

Within the conference itself we don't have teams following the same protocols. IE: Alabama offering testing everyday, some schools just three times a week.

@TerryP
Also read....if a big 10 team has more than 2 games postponed/ cancelled then they would not be eligible for championship game...
since the have no makeup dates..... at present
And the postponement/cancel games are starting to pile up...
Should OSU get another and get down to Michigan on schedule....
Michigan calls a covid.... eliminates osu...Michigan finally gets a W over Osu..lol

Fair enough.

I guess it boils down to this then - Is there an SEC minimum, and is LSU following that?
