Back to bcs...NOooooooooooo....
4 team playoff.....works.....awkward with 5 conferences....and letting independent teams in....

Using the BCS system to rank teams versus the committee ranking them gives the same results, same teams.

I don't have issues with the committee other than sometimes there are 12 discussing teams, at other times as few as nine. OU had two who had to withdrawn from discussing the Sooners...maybe there were three now that I consider Frank Beamer.

I was in favor of using the bcs stuff for best 4....let the chips fall from there....
Like i said. The committee has shown to be fine....
But....i also know...how "politically correct " we have become in this world...
I would bet an ohio state fan may have different feelings....

Voting, top two, now top four. We still can't get everyone to agree with any type of system? Now talks about top eight, but if this come along someone will want the top 16's teams! When will it every end?

People never are going to agree....period.... it just has to evolve...
The system is evolving...like any business....
but from many polls to now....its a "moon landing" improvement...dont u think

Once again, the committee more or less got it right. I’ve watched a lot of the bowl games this year and there hasn’t been one that stood out in my mind that I thought deserved in over any of the others.

I caught a few comments today I found interesting.

One, on Campus Conversation, Ivan Maisel mentioned the #5 team has a record of 1-4 in their games since the advent of the playoffs.
Two, his comment was followed by one from Brad Edwards (I believe it was him) wondering if five years is enough time to get a real feel on how well this works.

The second comment really caught my attention. We've been through 10 semi final games and only two of those were within a score. Eight of the ten weren't good ball games.

Is five years enough to get a feel when 80% are blowouts. That seems overwhelming to me.

There's one question I believe is one of the best asked about this whole thing. What do you want out of the playoffs; inclusion or excellence? Expanding the format is being inclusive...and why would you want to do that when the goal if finding out which team is the national champion?

• The average CFP Championship game score differential after 10 games is 8.5. Get rid of the Ohio State beat down of Oregon by 22 points, and the average is 4 points.
