When was the last time that we had linebackers that people actually talked about? I mean real, NFL caliber, talent? We have Hightower AND McClain, and people outside of the bama nation are hyping them up to be fast and ferocious, LB's to be feared. When was the last time we had one, much less two guys this good? And this doesn't even mention the other future stars we have and/or getting...

The only names that really comes to mind are Derrick Thomas and Cornelius Bennett......as real "standouts" and could play at the next level as standouts also....been along time.

Yep, and it's only a matter of time until Patrick gets talked about like this.

It's just been so long that we've had anyone that could get pressure on the quarterback with any consistency. I really hope with our line, and with the lb's moving around a lot, we can finally start posting some sacks. Seems like every game I've watched over the past 10-15 years, we get close, but rarely get the sack. I know pressures are good, but putting the qb on the ground works so much better, better opportunity for fumbles, interceptions, and just plain rythym disruption.

Yep, and it's only a matter of time until Patrick gets talked about like this.

Not to discredit Tana but Nico Johnson is the real deal. He's gonna make an early impact as McClain and Hightower did then... Reminds me something of the best days of DeMeco Ryans at The Capstone. He's ready to be in contention for a starting place inside along Rolo, which will provide to slide Dont'a outside to the Jack more often...

And Petey Smith is going to add to this, too, when he joins the team next year, hopefully.

Demeco was good, but I don't think he was ever as talented as some of these guys, he just played with a lot more heart than guys at his talent level and sometimes, that's better than talent alone. But now, we have guys with the talent and the heart.
