From what I've read, the USC fans are pumped about him coming! I can't figure it out, but hey more power to em!
My impression has been the USC fans are more pumped about who Kiffin is bringing with him (Monte, The Big O, and Chow) than in the realization that Kiffykin himself will be their head coach.
In fact, I get the distinct feeling they are actually ignoring the fact he will be the head coach and implying that the three mentioned above will in fact be the actual leaders of the program.
Now with word that Chow will most likely remain across town at UCLA, will have to see if some of the glitter falls aside.
And of course, I seem to recall that about 14 months ago the hillbillies themselves were pumped than little Kiffykin was to be their new leader. And the consensus was because Papa Kiffin and The Big O was going to be the real leaders of the team.
Seems not much has changed. Except even with moderate recruiting success at SC Kiffin will field a roster many times better than his nearest Pac 10 opponent as opposed to being out-talented by at least Alabama, Florida, and LSU year-in and year-out while at Tennessee.
