That looks like it could be Centipede...guessing St. Augustine. I think that's a Begonia in the pot. Nice choice.

Lugustrum for the front border shrubs? Looks like a Privet variety. Euonyomus?

Agree. It came about because of an overzealous bobcat operator. The guy wasn’t supposed to remove the city sidewalk but did. He also caused sprinkler pipe to be replaced and cut my Spectrum internet cable. A sad day indeed.

I’m in Central Florida by the Atlantic and St Augustine grass is about the only thing that grows. Flowers and shrubs? Couldn’t tell you the names. We have water restrictions so the shrubs have to be full sun, light water variety. The flowers in the pot get changed about once a quarter to whatever my wife wants. Usually something seasonal.

Yes it’s thick. it takes little bit to the get the roots to dig deep. I use Scott’s every 6-8 weeks and it works pretty good.

When I was living in Memphis I used bone meal as a root developer. It wasn't an easy spread...by hand, mostly. but it worked.
