📝 Kivon Bennett commits to TN

Tennessee has got to be loving this Alabama legacy get. Many vols are more than familiar with his father's exploits aginst them.

He sure has a lot of offers and I believe he's still very young at 16. But who knows, living in South Florida, we may not have that Crimson pull. Hope things change by February.

I'm thinking he is listed at 6'3" 265 and plays DT. Definitely undersized for us and may not have the quicks his old man had to play at DE or OLB. Truth be known, he is probably down the list as far as wish list at DT.

Still early in the process! I know they have him listed as a DT, but after a few lbs he could develop into a nice 3-4 DE prospect for our staff. A lot can happen in the next 8 months!

But, TS, just because we gave him an offer doesn't mean it's an OFFER, yes? I mean, we may never know but - was it a 'non-binding' wait and see offer? Was it a 'we have respect for your Dad but you should look elsewhere' offer? I know those offers exist in the realm. I know it sounds like sour grapes but....

This kid is a legacy to one of the all time greats. He is also listed as only the 36th best DT by 247 Sports.

Maurdecus Humphrey was a legacy. He didn't get a Saban offer - was asked to walk on. He went to Arky on scholly instead - it didn't work out well....

Yeah, it's early. Yeah, he could get better, grow more, change his mind. But maybe he just isn't that good and we have 4 guys in the top 20 DTs that we like and have a good chance with. And maybe it's fine to just let it [him] go.

And it's just good internet fodder for Al.com that Drew Champlin posted the news that way, it being U cheat and all. I wish him the best, and shame on the Biscuit for letting him go to play at pukeville for the viles.

Yeah I agree... Likely not even a committable offer at this point.

But after a good senior year, maybe he becomes a priority? At that point I would think Bama would have a great shot at him.
