Aaron did have that split second "Deer in the Headlights" brace for impact.Similar to what Quinton Dial did to Aaron Murray. Jawja fans still crow about that.

Played both ways as there was not full substitution.....ie. Couldn't substitute a full 11 after change of possessionsI was too young to see Lee Roy play in college, but remember him with the Cowboys. I know about the 30-tackle bowl game he had against Oklahoma, if I recall correctly, and Bear's quote about Lee Roy tackling sideline-to-sideline. What I find odd is he's listed in Alabama's media guide as an All-American center in 1961 with no mention of him as an All-American linebacker and he's listed in the college football hall of fame as a center.
Every listing I find lists him as an All-American at center. I knew guys played both ways but didn't realize he was a center and that good of one.Played both ways as there was not full substitution.....ie. Couldn't substitute a full 11 after change of possessions
So many played both ways... why he was listed as just center... i don't know....
I had always thought. McCants was going to be big time nflLike him or not.. McCants and McClain were just natural freaks.. I remember both of them rundown someone that they shouldn’t have caught from behind, with a huge lead..(in different eras)..
The drug bug screwed up McCants..who knows what would’ve happened if he stayed clean..I had always thought. McCants was going to be big time nfl
Same with Trent.
Wrong!!!
I'm thinking of the 89 Iron Bowl in JH stadium. We were undefeated and #2. He made a tackle on a WR who was destined for a TD.McCants and McClain were just natural freaks.. I remember both of them rundown someone that they shouldn’t have caught from behind, with a huge lead
Yeah, and he outrun the secondary guys that were ahead of him..I'm thinking of the 89 Iron Bowl in JH stadium. We were undefeated and #2. He made a tackle on a WR who was destined for a TD.
Got injured and hooked on painkillers. When those no longer worked, he went down the darker road. The drug bug screwed up McCants..who knows what would’ve happened if he stayed clean..
That sucks.. He could’ve been a legendary player..Got injured and hooked on painkillers. When those no longer worked, he went down the darker road.
