šŸˆ Kevin Steele to LSU

Anybody hearing the rumor that this stems from something that happened around the Sugar Bowl between some coaches (including Steele and Thompson) and Kirby? I am hearing there was some kind of altercation between members of the staff and some were asked to find jobs elsewhere because of it.

I wasn't aware this was "new" news and it certainly falls far outside the "rumor" category.

Steele being "encouraged" to move on is a result of not seeing "eye to eye" with Smart.

Thompson being told to move on has to do with several things: the one that is most important—in terms of the football teams' performance—to me is dealing with player development. One that sort of grates on my nerves was his "return to DuBose style decisions" with personnel. Hell, it's the same thing that cost Rumph his position.

Not trying to de-rail the thread, but is Smart a hard ass and difficult to work with/for? I seem to remember similar conversations about Pruitt when he left to go to FSU. Something to the extent that Pruitt and Smart butted heads a few times.

@rocknthefreeworld I know what you're referring to here. What I don't quite understand is how it's suddenly a topic of conversation, seemingly everywhere.

If you think about Steele, it's not the first time he's had "differences of opinions" with people he's working with. The most famous is probably the time Kevin Greene came close to pummeling him when Steele was with the Panthers.

There's already spin coming out about his departure. The latest of which is DP suggesting that Saban was trying to keep Steele from getting on the plane and leaving. Where that's coming from? I suspect Steele's camp; but I don't know and really don't care.
