One word DUMB!
A man of his age should know better.

You could not ever meet a nicer more cordial person, but his issues with drinking have really left a tarnish on his legacy. I have zero sympathy for anyone who gets nailed with a DUI, much less 3. That should be a mandatory 12 months in the pen, IMO. What a shame...

On a serious note, I say Barker gets the nod.

12 months in the pen? What about the guy that blows .001 over the limit. 12 months in the pen is a little harsh and borderline psychotic.

As for possible replacements, I say let either Finebaum, Scarbinsky, or one of the ESPN analysts call Bama games

“Kenny has always been supportive of Alabama athletics, and it’s in times like these that his friends need to be supportive of him. It’s my understanding that this situation is in its early stages and a lot of the information is still being gathered. With that in mind, I think it would be disrespectful and irresponsible to comment any further.”

I hate "pc" crap like this. I understand that Mal can't really say anything, but "friends need to be supportive", "a lot of information is still being gathered", etc... is bull hockey. I love Snake, but it kills me in situations like this where he actually becomes the poor victim and we're supposed to support him and give him the benefit of the doubt. Forget about the police's take on this.
As some have mentioned what if he had hurt or killed someone any of those times? Would he still be in the victim role? Time to grow up, Snake, and start making big boy decisions and accepting the consequences.

Far, far, far too often his words do not match the action my eyes just witnessed.jocephus8179 said:But how dare you say we replace Eli. Eli is the same to Alabama like Golden Flake and Coke. Honestly, how often do you know of people to watch a game at home with their T.V. volume turned down and the radio on just to hear Eli call the game? You don't hear much of that happening in ANY sport.
Gold is a horrible play-by-play announcer if such minor things as score, down-and-distance, and yardage gained or lost (and why) are important to your understanding and enjoyment of the contest.
At some point in our immediate history, I long for the day when our football (and overall athletic program) makes hiring-and-firing decisions based on competency and MERIT and excellence rather than 'who knows or knew whom' and 'because we have kept someone around so long - and beyond their effectiveness, that we should keep them around as part of our legacy.'
With all due respect you are dead wrong. Eli is one of the most accurate play by play men in the business and is highly regarded as such. It is possible that since you watch the TV and listen to Eli, what you are noticing is a delay in the game. Since the radio broadcast tends to be a few seconds behind the game.
