If the NCAA doesn't rule before the game does CNS sit them out as a cautionary measure? What changes if they don't play? I guess I am trying to ask if we still win this game without those two? I hate to spread gloom but I am reminded of the Utah game without smith.

The only possibility for an NCAA incident would have been if the guy were associated with Alabama in some way. They cannot disassociate a person who is not associated. The only issue is eligibility, and there are clearly defined rules regarding the procedures that are to be followed. As I understand it, those rules have been followed to the letter of the law, and there is really no further issue. The media and rivals want to make an issue where none exists. If we had not had our recent NCAA issues, there probably would be nothing said and it would be business as usual.

I don't see any possibility of any further problems from this, and to be honest, I am surprised it is still being talked about.

Don't know for sure, but I heard that ESPN even sponsored McCoy on the BASS trip deal. I would think that is way worse and merits more investigation than two guys going fishing with a friend of one of the players. And by sponsored, I mean paid for and arranged the whole trip for Lil Colt.
This whole thing is a crock. The NCAA isn't ruling on it because they are trying to screw with Alabama. They have done it for a long time now. I am actually waiting on them to once again hand down sanctions of some kind, even though they are not warranted and even though the NCAA has ruled in the past in similar incidents that nothing can be done - see Tee Martin case. They broke their own rules to prosecute Alabama for the Albert Means case, why stop now?
