To be honest, I actually wish JA simply was used on special teams and not on regular defense. I'm sure he enjoys the extra playing time, though.

But, there is a big injury risk involved with him playing "D." Of course, one torpedo hit from an opponent during a return could lead to the same result.

I guess one has to take "The hel** with it" approach and just go out and play with "reckless abandon."

I understand what you are saying, Factor but him playing defense is also a resume builder for Javy. Oh yeah, I can't wait to see a couple of pick 6's this year and hopefully he has a couple of those against a couple of favorite opponents.

Well, it was a return that he got hurt on. :?

Does anyone know any prognosis? Any report at all? I watched on GamePlan and listened to post game (didn't catch all of it in time though) and never heard.

If I had to guess, I'd say he has at worst a mild concussion and may take a week off. Then again, they could have just been holding him out of the second half just to be safe and he could be back as soon as next week.

After seeing him tonight, if he keeps this type of play tonight, he could earn himself a shot at a Sunday afternoon job as a punt and kick returner someday.

It was extremely bad. He got hit and rattled about as well as one can be hit and not do any serious damage.

He laid on the field for quite a while, but did walk off. Notice I didn't say he walked off under his own power; he had two men on either side of him walking him off.

Why? Because he was dead on his feet. His eyes never opened as he "walked" off the field. Not an exaggeration, his eyes remained completely closed while he was exiting the field of play.

I would say it almost has to be a heavy duty concussion. It was one of the painful ones, one of the "my head is exploding" types of concussions, I am sure.

Concussion, so basically day-to-day.

I knew that he had a concussion as soon as the guy made helmet to helmet contact with him. I wouldn't mind if he had to sit out next weekend as a precaution to be honest.

On another note, I almost gave my barner 'friend' a concussion when he laughed after Arenas went down. It got kind of ugly and heated, so I had to walk outside for a while.

You also have to take into account that if he hadn't been given his shot at making the CB rotation he very well may have left the program. He certainly was considering it when he saw himself as a return guy only.
