This is long, but....
I know Iāve posted my renderings in past forums; Claysbamapage and CrimsonCorner, but I do not believe Iāve ever posted them here. Since itās slow with the off season and spring practice is still a few weeks away I thought Iād share my Bryant Denny Stadium renderings with yāall. I began drawing BDS using MicroStation (a Computer Aided Drafting program; CAD) back in 2005; over the years Iāve added more detail, studying and fixing mistakes Iāve made and adding Expansions that have come since. I set them up in a timeline as in a drawing file per addition; 1929 when the original fifty row west grandstand was constructed, 1938 a twenty-five row grandstand was added on the east, 1950 the east grandstand got an additional twenty-five rows added to match the west grandstand at fifty rows, 1961 both east and west grandstands grew to sixty-one rows and a new pressbox (double wide in the sky type), 1966 the north and south endzone seats were added to complete the bowl, 1988 the west upperdeck was added with new pressbox, 1998 the east upperdeck and skyboxes was added, 2006 we got the north upperdeck and last we got the south upperdeck in 2010. My profession details me to do CAD work from time-to-time (Not stadium design though) and recently I got refreshed with a newer version of MicroStation, and its rendering capabilities has been greatly improved from its predecessors. I had to share, and if yāall have seen my renderings over the past (my 2010 addition renderings floated around different Bama forums, and apparently Mal Moore had seen them too) you havenāt seen them in this kind of quality. Previously they looked low quality and very pixalized (if thatās a word). Iām only posting 1988-present, I plan to study up and add better detail to what old Denny Stadium looked like in those years, so if you have old photos of the stadium from pre-1988 please post or PM me. Things Iām looking for is the old pressbox, the scoreboards, the temporary endzone bleachers, when did the bleachers go from wood to capped with fiberglass to aluminum, when did they install the chairbacks below the pressbox also I remember seeing photos where BAMA was painted on the bleacher in one or both of the endzones. Hope you like.
