🏈 Is Bama the True Under Dog this weekend?

Everyone is saying that because we are on the road facing a Top 25 team, after facing #10 and #7 in consecutive weeks. Throw into all that the fact that we routed Florida the week before, and USCjr has had an extra week to prepare. I still say the Tide wins by two touchdowns, but those are probably the reasons people say Bama is in trouble this weekend.

sc is the best and most well-rounded team we will have played to date... i think they're better than what they did at auburn for sure. the run well, pass well and have a good defense that pursues the ball and loves to hit. they won't be tip-toeing around the Tide tomorrow.

Will they win? i don't think so. Bama by 10.

I have been saying since before the season started that I thought this was a dangerous game for us, the third in a murderer's row stretch for our guys. It will be tough because: USCe is good, it is in their yard, and we've just had two demanding games in a row. I still think we win by 14+.

This will be another close game like the Arkansas game, if I had to guess. I'm not sure they have all the defense that has been advertised. They've yielded some pretty high point totals. Auburn, which is possibly as good on offense as we are, certainly put it's share of points up (35). They had a game against Furman in which they gave up 19, and those weren't just crap points at the end of the game. And, let's not forget, they still have Steven Garcia, and a freshman. They will need very consistent QB play against us, and I'm not sure those guys are capable of that against an athletic defense like ours. Let's not forget: we only gave up 6 to Florida, and only 20 to Arkansas, which might be the lowest amount they score the rest of the year. This defense ain't all that bad.

The rest of our schedule, with the exception of Ga State, is full of nervousness. Every team will be gunning for us. We must learn to put the boot on the throat of the opponent, and play a concentrated 4 full quarters.

Look we are on the road, the roosters have had an extra week to practice, and SOS will get something a big play or 2. Bama rolls in this one guys once Saban and co. adjust it's over. I think we rush for over 200 plus.... We will convince USCe players they have been dominated by the 3rd Quarter RTR! Bama 38 Roosters 13

I wasn't aware we were underdogs???:headscratch:

I think we'll be put to a test, but I see the Tide pulling this one off. As long as we blow up Garcia, Spurrier throws his visor and brings the freshman QB in and throws a few picks. Game. :a:

While you're right about people not picking against us, I would hardly say we're a media darling.

I agree...Alabama is NOT a media darling!

It seems all the "experts" do is just sit around and wait for Alabama to lose. Since the San Jose State game all I hear is, "this could be the week when..."

Alabama gets all the attention...but they are certainly on the wrong side of the "darling" aspect.

The "darlings" are still Oregon and Boise State.

Now Allen Barra of the WSJ LOVES Bama...but he is in the minority. He even "attacks" those who favor Carolina over Bama

Barra to Finebaum:

"The idea that Nick Saban will get distracted, is ridiculous. Garcia is an average QB. McElroy will riddle SC."
"All I'm seeing on tv is 'Lattimore'. Alabama has 3 RB's better than Marcus Lattimore. I haven't seen anything great from Lattimore."
"Alabama isn't getting the respect they deserve. Surprised at how ESPN is saying SC has a chance to win. BALONEY."
"This may be the best team ever at Alabama. Better than last year's team. SC does not match up vs Bama on defense."

Everything I'm reading is saying Bama will lose to SC, No way Bama can handle SC this weekend! Thoughts?! Are we really in this much trouble?!

Roll Tide Roll!

In the interesting of being respectful and minimizing profanity I will simply say "HELL NO" Alabama is not an underdog going into this game. Is this an upset possibility? Of course it is. They have a chippy defense and an offense that can be dangerous when they get in a rhythm. They can be just as bad as they can be good. I truly believe Alabama will not dominate this game start to finish but will easily pull away as the game winds down. By the end of the day you guys will be questioning why you were worried to begin with and why Alabama can't play an entire 60 minutes.
