🏈 Injury updates on Jennings and Cotton--both out for the title game

I'm comparing production to production. We're not comparing Mosley to corners, comparing him to others playing the same position.

If UGA is set on throwing to TE's all day and our OLB's are not rushing the passer or stopping the run, then by all means I trust that Mosley is a good option. Problem is they're OC get's paid a lot too... If you see Mosley on 1 edge and Lewis on the other, where you runnin'?

Hopefully we can limit first downs so that the D can stay in their preferred packages on 2nd and 3rd.
There's is no comparison found in my post with linebackers to corners. Akin. Similar.

You can't compare production to production. Not with JACK, or any other LB position with SAM.

Bama seldom uses the SAM to rush the passer--very seldom this season or in the past.

I asked earlier and didn't get a response. What does Jim Chaney bring to the field that Mosley hasn't seen before in film? What does Chaney bring to the field, period?

You yourself said Ryan Anderson, Hubbard, Devall played the position - But seldomly rushed the passer? Ummm... Agree to disagree. I've seen Mosley come off the edge plenty this season... It ain't pretty.

I have no idea what Chaney brings to the field that Mosley hasn't seen on film. What does Daboll/Jalen do that their defense won't see on film? My point was Mosley hasn't made many plays this season... lol

Your point is, I'm paraphrasing, that he doesn't have to for us to win. I hope you're right!

Now you're comparing some of Kirby's calls to that of Pruitt.

You're mentioning Anderson and Devall here. But, you are not mentioning how they were at SAM in '14 and to start '15 that position was manned by Lee, followed by Evans and Miller. At the other OLB position in '15 it was Devall followed by Anderson.

Why wasn't one of the "group" of LBrs that will replace Jennings out there with only a couple minutes left in the game getting some playoff experience ? With as thin as Bama is, and as disastrous any more injuries would be at LB I have no idea what Jennings was doing on the field.
My thoughts exactly. After the game was already decided and the impact he had, sit his ass down. Put in a scrub, and get over it if Clemson makes the final score a little more respectable.

I saw a replay of jennings injury the other day, and i think he probably has a more serious than usual injury. His leg went damn near 90 degrees at the knee in the wrong direction.

M O S L E Y ! If he can be effective vs uga then he can handle 3 minutes of mop up duty vs Clemson to keep our starting olb healthy !
The problem with this suggestion is you're mixing the two outside linebacking position together. Jamey doesn't play Jennings position. I've never even heard of him taking reps there.

On top of that Bama played Clemson in nickel--a set where the SAM isn't used.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic here T&B ... he had surgery. That tends to mean it wasn't just a simply sprained knee.

Duly noted that Jennings doesn't play Mosely's position. However you may be missing the forest for the trees. The essential point being proposed is perhaps it made more sense to have removed such an impactful player from the game at that point, even if it meant yeilding a late TD to Clemson.

Three minutes. Game is over. Can not sustain more injuries at olb. Take Jennings out. Put next player up at sam in. Jennings remains available for Title game. Everyone is happy.

While some want to continue to talk about Jennings injury, seems a rumor going around about possibly "ANOTHER" injury to someone that we all feel is even more important.......Minkah!!!! Someone put out a rumor that Minkah was seen at a B'ham hospital this week and a media person noted that during their viewing period ( only lasted 5 minutes) that Minkah was absent. Someone then started the rumor that Minkah had suffered a lacerated kidney!!! Seeing now that it is a lingering issue from a previous injury, the hamstring. Damn!!! Some of these people are dying for attention!!!

Would be devastating!

Don't even know who the next safety up would be...?

You expect it to be JC Hass or Leatherwood in some capacity for Cotton?
It's going to be Hass.
If you didn't notice, as soon as Cotton went down Hass was on the field--literally within a few seconds. He was the "6th man."

In the Clemson game I noticed Wills more than Leatherwood when they brought in an extra O-lineman. That leads me to believe (God forbid) if another lineman went down we'd see Wills. That said, before Clemson and today, I couldn't say who is the 7th (now 6th) man up on the line.

A coach told Rodney Orr they are expecting him to play Monday.
