🏈 Injury updates on Jennings and Cotton--both out for the title game

If you didn't notice, as soon as Cotton went down Hass was on the field--literally within a few seconds. He was the "6th man."

In the Clemson game I noticed Wills more than Leatherwood when they brought in an extra O-lineman. That leads me to believe (God forbid) if another lineman went down we'd see Wills. That said, before Clemson and today, I couldn't say who is the 7th (now 6th) man up on the line.

I noticed it and I noticed that Hass was bulldozing several guys once he went in as well. I think he got a bad rap in the '15 A&M game when Kelly went down and he filled in at center for a game or two. The kid is a fighter and looks to have a nasty streak in him as well. I noticed Wills being that extra tackle as well in short yardage/ goalline situations as well. That kid is a mauler!!!

Take Jennings out. Put next player up
@12gage mentioned this. Who? Miller and Lewis were already getting a lot of reps. We saw Ray get in the game late as well. Chris Allen? He isn't even on the travel squad this year (and I don't know if he was dressed for this game as it was.)

Jennings was hurt on a fluke. It wasn't due to being caught up in the scrum. He wasn't even involved in the tackle. He got his foot hung up in the turf and then tripped over Harrison. It was a freak injury. BUT, it's football--injuries happen.

By no means to I have any issue with the personnel on the field at that point. Yes, we're looking at three minutes left--with Clemson driving. 18 points in three minutes? Oh yeah, very possible. Hell, Bama put 14 on the board in less than 15 seconds in the same game.

We hate the injury but questioning personnel at that point ... meh, don't see it, at all.

Savage is always dropping hints though that are pretty accurate... So made me think about Leatherwood. His point was Hass is the 6th man on demand but with a week to prep Leatherwood could get the call. I prefer Hass... Such a big moment for a frosh.

I didn't get to re watch and see about extra lineman but love that whole idea. Wills and Leatherwood next season, I'm pumped.

I expect to see some of the same against UGA. While their linebackers are very good, they are pursuit/speed guys. I don't see that group as hitting the gaps--big boy style--and stopping a power running attack.

Speaking of Wills, wondering if he is still so adamant about not playing anything other than Tackle. When asked to play Guard in the Army All Star game last year he said that he was a tackle was going to Bama to play Tackle and he would not be playing Guard for anyone....
He is talented and I often thought he could have gotten more PT at Guard this year than holding on to "tackle or nothing" approach. But hey, what do I know... truthfully very little.

Honestly dont know which is bigger. Cotton has been a monster this season, probably the strongest offensive lineman and I think JC is a huge downgrade. Dont think Miller/Lewis are nearly as big of a downgrade from Jennings.

While some want to continue to talk about Jennings injury, seems a rumor going around about possibly "ANOTHER" injury to someone that we all feel is even more important.......Minkah!!!! Someone put out a rumor that Minkah was seen at a B'ham hospital this week and a media person noted that during their viewing period ( only lasted 5 minutes) that Minkah was absent. Someone then started the rumor that Minkah had suffered a lacerated kidney!!! Seeing now that it is a lingering issue from a previous injury, the hamstring. Damn!!! Some of these people are dying for attention!!!

Didn't he have an interview today? Injured players don't interview...as far as I know.
