Bright House customers, it looks as if you needn’t worry about losing ESPN.
Time Warner Cable, which is negotiating for Bright House Networks, and Walt Disney Co., owner of ESPN, said today they have made “significant progress” in talks about cable fees.
In statements on their websites, the companies said, “We are now focusing all our attention on a successful conclusion of these efforts prior to the September 2 deadline.”
On its website, Time Warner told customers that it expects service “to remain uninterrupted” and added, “There should be no reason to consider switching.”
Another hopeful sign, reported by The Wall Street Journal’s website: Both Disney and Time Warner have pulled marketing campaigns to sway public opinion in their favor.
