| FOOD I'm in the mood for a food thread. If it's boring? I don't want to hear about it. A twist on something? Yeah.

Never done that. I've eaten it several times. Poogan's here in town. OH MAN! That was good. There's a place about three miles from here that also serves it...meh. The food was ok, the prices weren't. For god's sake, they took a Sears Tire place and turned it into a restaurant...can't get that out of my head. There's another place called "Uncork Charleston" ... that was good. Their Whipped Goat Cheese Crostini...make you slap someone.

I've eaten it a few times and, like you, experience has varied. Caught it so figured I'd try cooking it.

Either really good or really bad!!! If it’s not cooked correctly, the texture is almost nauseating!!!
You know me. I eat seafood all the time. There is not a more easy dish on this planet for someone to screw up.

Hey, get this. You should order some of the hushpuppie mix from Gilligans in this area. But, if you are here? DON'T eat there. You could play a version of paper football with their boiled shrimp. BUT, those hush puppies...

It used to be a good eatin' place until they decided to branch out. Went to Red Lobster ...

It amazes me how many places serve bland hushpuppies, put some onion and jalapenos, maybe some corn in there. You know it's not gonna be good when they bring out the frozen store bought kind.

@TerryP or anyone else have any of you heard of Sweet potatoes Corn Bread? My daughter ask me to make it for her. Krusteaz mix box honey cornbread you add the sweet potato after you mix it. The video show adding red dye. I didn't. You add honey butter to the cornbread.

I ask that because all of those take different times to cook. It's one of the biggest reasons people screw up Cajun dishes...shrimp, scallops, etc. you can bounce off a wall.
All cooked separately. Boiled the octopus for 45 min with spices and lemon then chilled and was the last thing grilled, only grilled for 4 min. Put the flounder on grill first then about half way through cooking it put the shrimp on in some garlic and butter. Threw the octopus on for few minutes while taking everything else in. Crab was just steamed, no grilling. Hate over cooked seafood.
