Aight, ease up parents. It was just a joke! The weight of the statement I'd like you to carry over to this thought.
I suppose one could say, "you guys do the same thing to an extent." And, the fact of the matter is we do. But, it's a bit of a different scenario with RTB as compared to Rolltide.com.
There are quite a few times during the week I'll visit the site to look up something. The majority of the time it has something to do with a statistical comparison I'm working through. The plethora of information that's available there makes it one of my most frequented sites.
However, I do have one issue I'd like to see resolved. No, make that an issue I'd like to see changed, immediately.
I just glanced at the site for a quick count. From just a cursory count I see at least 15 different ads, some of those are repeated twice.
First of all, it isn't a situation where the University needs that ad revenue to maintain the site. They don't have to worry about the cost of the server space. I mentioned earlier we do the same thing here. And yes, we do. However, it's a bit of a different situation when we deal with paying server costs out of our own pocket and use the ads to help defrayānotice I didn't say coverāthe cost associated with running RTB.
My point of contention boils down to this.
Do I have to see a freakin' pop up ad jump in the middle of my screen every single time I visit the site!?!?!
