...are not taking bribes, then you need to see the replay on the UCONN/Baylor game from tonight. I'm sure if will be on ESPN tomarrow.

Another example of blatent incompetence, or blatent cheating. I choose to think that it's cheating, given that a 9 year old could make the call.

UCONN is playing Baylor right now. Baylor is on their 2 or 3 yard line. Baylor QB drops back to throw, get's sacked in the end zone.

REPEAT:

Baylor QB gets sacked in the end zone.

Baylor QB gets sacked in the end zone.

Okay, here's the really funny part.....

There is no "funny" part. The QB got sacked for a safety. Everyone in the stadium, and everyone watching saw it.

Of course, after it's all said and done, the QB is down on the 1 yard line.....even though he was tackled 2 yards into the end zone.

Right. Aint no one getting paid.

Yea I agree. Refs need to be talked too or something. Me and my pops were like WTF ? lol We were like my 6 year old nephew could see he was sacked in the endzone. And the bad thing was, it was "REVIEWED". LMAO What happen to a review I say?

When the quarterback was initially hit by the defender, he wasn't in the endzone. Therefor, he gets credit for forward progress at the 1 even though he ended up on the ground in the endzone. It wasn't a bad call.

Was the quarterback running forward and stopped and then drove backwards for a loss into the endzone? Otherwise you are spotted where you hit the ground, correct?

Imagine a 255 pound linebacker piercing the body of a QB as he is standing stock still trying to make a pass and is elevated off his feet and lands 2 yards back from where he was originally standing.

Is the ball placed where he was originally standing or where he landed?

BTW, I didn't see the game; I am only inquiring.

FWIW, later in the game (around 1:30 left) he was sacked again. Point of contact was the UCONN 39, he hit the ground around the 41. The ball was spotted for the 3rd down play at the 39 aka the original point of contact.

Same type play, not around the endzone, same call.

Coach Art Briles has done a good job with Baylor. If he stays there a few years, they are going to make some waves here and there in the Big12. Hell of a coach!

There were several terrible calls in that came. I can't remember just when this happened, but a UCONN ball carrier was runnung towards the sidelines, and a Baylor defender came over and hit him, clearly a yard or more in bounds. The official who had an unobstructed view of the plat tossed his flag and baylor got 15 for hitting out of bounds.

Wednesday night, in the K-State vs Louisville game, the same kind of play happened. A flag was tossed, but then the officials conferred and the flag was picked up. The three idiots in the booth kept talking about what a flagrant hit it was and how they shouldn't have picked up the flag, even though the replay showed that the contact began in bounds.

I have to respectfully disagree. That was a terrible call. How in the world do you award forward progress when the QB drops into the end zone to pass? Since when did that become the new rule?

So, going by that then....if Wilson drops back to the 10, gets hit, wiggles away, then ends up in the end zone.....gets hit again and goes down, then the ball is spotted at the 10 yard line where contact was initially made?

Ludicrous.

I'd have to look for it later Otimus. I havent tried to see if it was posted or not.

Regarding the play though, the only other thing I can think of is that maybe the rules regarding safeties don't apply when initial contact is made outside of the end zone. I know that you cannot drag a player into the end zone, and a player has to enter the end zone willfully, but that is what the Baylor QB did. At least it appeared that way.

He began outside of the end zone and then went into the end zone on his own accord. Whatever. Anyway. Old news I guess.
