🏈 If this OSU thing gets opened up, the NCAA enforcement staff...

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State has suspended football coach Jim Tressel two games and fined him $250,000 for violating NCAA rules, following a Monday report indicating he was aware of potential NCAA violations involving star quarterback Terrelle Pryor and others months before the school was told.

Tressel will also have to attend compliance seminar and make a public apology.

well this is like the Tennessee case i guess where the school hands down a suspension of the coach and then the NCAA will let them know what else they deserve if anything else. Seems like they should have to forfeit some wins from last year as well but what do i know

If it's like the last suspensions, I'm guessing he'll choose to apply it to the 2012 season...

I wouldn't doubt that the NCAA could just pay Yahoo Sports a lot of money to do some of their investigations, then report the findings.

Were it not for Yahoo Sports, I don't think anything would ever have been done about USC and Reggie Bush. They would not let the story die. Hope they have the same persistence about $cam and Asterisk U.

Everyone, well a lot of folks, have that opinion. It's not accurate.

While the NCAA was investigating Bush, the OJ Mayo story broke as well. So, their investigation expanded into the basketball program as well.

Then, they ended up changing their main investigator mid stream when the sent Johanningmeir to the West coast.

If you recall, I posted here about two years before their sanctions were handed down their boosters were told to expect sanctions. Heck, Carroll coached another year knowing it was coming down the road.

Tennessee's investigation ran around 17-18 months before the SEC handed their penalty out...
