why didn't bama hold/interfere on purpose on last play thus forcing Clemson to probably
kick a FG as there would have been time for only one more play after a defensive penalty...Clemson would probably not have gone for TD if Bama had interfered on purpose on last play...

Hard to hold/interfere when you're 185 and you get screened by a 250# tight end on a pick route.
 
If you're so smart why aren't you the coach that has won 5 national championships?

If you hold, they still get an untimed down (if the clock runs out) at the inch line and at that point Clemson wasnt going for the tie so whats your point? They weren't going to kick the ball at that point, period.

Don't need to win 5 Natty's to see what was going to happen on that play. And good if they don't kick it you can actually win the game, at least you gave yourself a chance to win the game on a legitimate play as opposed to running into each other on the goal line.

Put your emotional hatred towards me (and the other 25 posters) aside, you know I'm right. Just go with it

I dont know you, how could I hate you? No you aren't right. You're assertion is them using the pick play on the 2 assured they would win. How is it any more of a "legitimate" play if you get called for a flag and they do the exact same play over? You think they were going to do anything else OTHER than run a pick play? How do you combat that if the referee's arent going to call it? Play zone? And its an even easier 2-yard touchdown pass...

Absolutely play zone. Or blitz from the strong side so the pass isn't a gimme. Anything but giving them the perfect conditions for that pass with your defense gassed. Either way the D never had a chance to organize/regroup after the penalty.

Finished the game with 2 TO's, an exhausted defense, and Clemson got to run America's play against the worst defense possible. Not how you want that situation to play out.

Plz bama fans, spare us the "not how you play the game" excuse...for you ppl who think they invented fball you guys (and Saban) sure lack common football sense...it's NOT ROCKET SCIENCE...on last play, you purposely HOLD all the Clemson players, thus forcing a likely Clemson fg on final play. For those who say Clemson would have gone for it still after a penalty to put ball on ONE yard line, keep saying that if that makes you feel better

Wow, you do realize it's possible that saint Saban maybe just didn't think of this strategy in the heat of moment. Considering he had a timeout (that he didn't use) to strategize this plan is just one more indication Saban choked.
And you DONT get the ball on 1 inch line if they held on purpose, would be half the distance or 1 yard line. And you saying Clemson would have gone for td regardless is just you trying to make yourself feel better after loss. They would no doubt have gone for fg
