Before the season, I thought we had about 8 wins in us. After we passed the 8 win mark, I considered anything above that to be gravy.
I think we all knew CNS would get us back to where we want to be. I think we will all agree that none of us saw us getting into the SECCG this soon.
I look to the senior leadership on this team and how they have bought into the program and CNS' way of doing things. I contrast that to last year's senior class. With a couple exceptions they were mired in a "I'm gettin' mine" mentality and pretty much sand-bagged after the loss to LSU last year to protect themselves for the NFL. You will note that NONE were drafted. The senior leadership and work ethic this year has wafted it's way all the way down the food chain. We have true freshmen BELIEVING they can line up anywhere, anytime, against anyone, and take it to 'em!
We are a young team and will lose very few to the graduation and the NFL. I RELISH the thought of what CNS and staff can do with these guys in the coming months and years!
It is so good to be "back," and I appreciate the efforts this senior class has made to lay the foundation for great things to come, and we have an opportunity to win our 13th game on New Year's Day.
The monster has indeed been awakened.....and he is pissed!
