🏈 Hypothetical, re: Winston and Alabama

So, say this whole thing had happened at Alabama, with an Alabama star QB (hell, assume Winston ended up going here). Accused rape, stolen goods, shouting vulgarities, etc.

How do you think CNS and co. would have handled this entire situation from the beginning? Would the QB have been suspended amid the allegations? Would the QB have been allowed to speak for himself instead of being hidden from the cameras? What about after the situation involving shouting (this is the censored version), "fornicate her right in the genitals" in a very public scene, on top of a table? Would a half game suspension have happened right away, or a full game? Say that player showed up, dressed, to the game and interacted (smiling, talking, laughing) with players/coaches/staff all night?

How do you think Alabama would have handled these situations? Hypothetically speaking, obviously.

Think about how CNS handled Eddie Williams and DJ Pettway. Look where both are now. Also, CNS always tells recruits that Bama is going to win. They can choose to be a part of the process that wins. Did you hear the whimper in Jimbo's voice as he tried to rationalize to the media about Shameis coming back?

Disciplinary matters...night and day

We'll, the hanging out and socializing part wouldn't happen because his ass would be gone before that happened. I think the crab leg caper would have been his last act at Bama, if he would have made it that far. I would like to think that we would have handled the rape case a lot more ethically and encouraged due process be given to the case.

Winston would've learned after the first incident with the pellet guns that CNS doesn't play. He very well may have transferred out after that first incident and the punishment he would've endured. I would think after the rape allegation, CNS would've suspended him until the DA made a decision as to prosecute or not. If Crabgate hadn't been his final nail in his coffin, then the obscenities spewed would've sealed the deal. If that had been his first incident, Winston would've had a GA holding his damn hand back at Bryant Hall.

I am sure coach Saban would have helped him see the light early on, or ... he would have already transferred elsewhere.
All the same, I am just glad Winston chose elsewhere before taking up a good scolly.
Give me Blake Sims any day and everyday over Winston.

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Yeah, he would've been gone before the table jumping, vulgarity yelling occurred. And does it seem like a double standard that he (CJF) threw Ramsey out of practice for insubordination and then when JW shows up in full gear and participates in warmup like nothing is wrong. Was JW the only one in the whole nation that follows college football that didn't know he was suspended? I'd think showing up dressed for the game in pads and all would be insubordination as well. CJF sent him back to change but then couldn't wait in the press conference after the game to tell everyone JW is the starting QB from now on.

But don't worry, JW is too full of himself to not screw up again. Just wait and see.

The pellet gun incident reminds me of what happened a few years back when some of our guys set off fireworks inside the athletic dorm. As he usually does in such matters, CNS suspended those involved and gave as punishment a list of things to do to get back on the team. As best I can remember none of the suspended players made it back. I agree with the point made above about the rape allegations. I am not sure if the crab legs caper would have gotten him booted from the team of itself, but his road back after that would have been very difficult.

Winston's public utterance of the now infamous internet meme is too much to countenance. After the rape allegation, the pellet gun episode, and the crab legs debacle, the guy should have been dismissed from the team. Yogi Berra: "There are some people who, if they don't already know, you can't tell 'em."
