A rockslide took out part of I-40 back in, what, 2010 or so? Took over a year to reopen. I bet this washout takes longer. The detour was long, not a lot of options going through that pass.

My youngest son works for Alabama Power in the substation division. He’s pulling out at 6am tomorrow morning heading to Georgia. I told him to wear his Bama gear and show them we ain’t bad folks.

Took years, but it was a brilliant engineering move, even left room for the eastbound to have a really nice bailout for brake failures. I've fantasized what a semi on runaway would look like on that runway.

What is the soil in that area? Mostly clay? I just walked outside in my back yard only to find myself taking off another pair of soaked shoes. I need to get out there and start taking the fallen fencing apart...hell, laying in my neighbors yard right now. But it's so damn wet. The 4X4's that snapped, snapped at ground level. So, there's two plus feet of those posts I'll have to dig out...of the mud.

Don't get me wrong here. I don't mind the work. I'll enjoy putting a new fence up. Aside from the money spent, I'll enjoy it...but geez, this is going to be some nasty work.

But HEY! I've almost got the yard cleaned up...too bad I can't work outside right now. I'm thinking the neighbors might be a little upset hearing power tools at 4:30 in the morning.

I know there's a monteagle on 24, is there one on 40 as well? Used to live at the foot of monteagle mountain, university of the south is up top, they were an original member of the SEC.

Nope, brain fart on my part, just the one on I-24 is the one I meant, although I-40 has had some slides getting up on the plateau as well.

My biscuit recipe comes from my Grandma. Back when there was a 19", B/W TV in the house in a stereo cabinet.

Here's where I"m waiting on @Bamabww His honey, on fresh biscuits? I'm kicking people's dogs up and down the street if they are in my way.

It's about like scrambled eggs. Ya got to do it in real butter.
