If the SEC allows him back, you have to think USCe and the Barn may get in a bidding war. If Sankey squashes the move, Michigan has got to be at the top of the list. Herman keeps doing just enough at Texass to keep his job.

He has been exiled long enough.....
But Tennessee doesnt have money....they will stay with JP...another year...
But...this is a disaster year...3-7 probably....maybe they will upset AU....
Then shop next year....
I don't think Hugh Freeze is coming back to SEC at all. I think Michigan, Texas might be his best shot. He'll do well in Michigan and OSU has to deal with him on daily basis.

Michigan has just as deep a pockets as Texas, maybe deeper. Losing to Ohio State year after year is plenty of motivation to dig deep. Look at it this way, Michigan has beaten Ohio State 3 times in the last 20 years. The rivalry was competitive up until 2000.
Texas has put up a better fight against their rival Oklahoma with 7 wins in the same 20 year period.
Not sure many teams are going to be looking to make a move in this environment unless you have an ethics issue or a Baylor type deal. If I were Freeze I would be patient.
Any coach with a substantial buyout remaining is probably safe.
So lets look at the obvious positions:
1. Michigan... They are done with him emotionally buy he has run a clean program and made it far better than what it was he has just been John Cooper and lost to the wrong teams. I think the administration allows Harbaugh to return for one more season or make a move to the NFL on his own.
Don't think they want to give one of their own a black eye when he really has done everything expected except beat OSU. predict Harbaugh takes and NFL gig on his own. Could they convince Fickell to take it and would they be willing to settle for Matt Campbell.
2. Texas... If Hermann finishes strong a good season is still on the table for them not what they wanted but unless the big money really really wants him gone this year he get to return next year. Predict money bags press the eject button and throw the bank at Freeze. This would be the ideal spot for freeze... top two program in Big XII and wont have to go through the SEC grinder every year. We all know the recruiting ground is a pick-em type situation in TX.
3. Tennessee...This is tricky.. UT has bungled their last three coaching searches. Pruitt actually has them much deeper and more talented than in the recent past. That cupboard was bare. They have some good young receivers and a good O-line. Loosing to ARK was really a bad look. UT needs a QB. unfortunately they may get stuck with the same dude who cant get it done again next year and they would have no other option but to play him unless they can land a generational type talent. If UT wants Freeze it will depend on what TX does. they will not beat out TX for him. If TX stays put UT may pull the trigger. If TX stays put then UT may make a move but they are strapped from previous buyouts. Prediction Pruitt get one more year.
4.So Car... Who cares really. probably done with Muschamp this year probably can't get a real name coach unless they go group of five like Napier or Chadwell.
5. LSU... Nothing happens here this year but Coach O will not do much better next year. I'm sure some of these hot coaches know that.
Side note... Pruitt and Muschamp on the market in the next two season. What are the odds one of these guys is our next defensive coordinator?
I am going way out on a limb and say Freeze will stay at Liberty. Did he mess up? Absolutely! Did he pay the price? Yes he did. He lost his job and probably came within an eyelash of losing his marriage as well. Have all of us done things we hope and pray NO ONE finds out? I'd say that's a yes too. He may be happy at Liberty, doesn't really need the money and has a lot less pressure to win big.
Kinda what I’ve been thinking. Remember how Rich Rod didn’t fit in with the “cerebral “ Michigan powers that be? I think Freeze would have the same issues
