Notre Dame vs Navy?

I know, I know. "I hate Notre Dame" is probably the first thing you thought.

But, consider this!

How badly is it going to get on the nerves of the Domers to hear the name Alabamas and Michigan during that broadcast? :td:

Won't be as bad as it would were the game on ABC. That would be worth watching for the plugs.

Not me. Weather permitting I will be doing yard work so I can watch real football later in the day. If it is raining, I'll check out the DIY channel.

By this time of the year you should have all of your summer projects completed.

I say that just after getting off of the phone with Lowes asking, "Where's my delivery?"

("In the store," I'm told...all the time wondering why this piece of paper says Delivery Date August 29th, 9AM.)

That may be the case up there in SC, but down here in L.A., I'll more than likely be cutting grass at least every other weekend till late October or early November.

With the amount of rain and temps in the Mid 80s lately, you won't believe how fast bermuda grows. My next lawn will be centipede. Right now I am mowing every week. Hopefully dryer weather will let me back that off to every 10 days or so.

Montgomery: 32.3667°
Charleston: 32.7764°

Up there? That's about...what, 30 miles difference to the north?

Ah. Joining Bo in the misconception category I see!

Lawn sodded in Bermuda Tifway 419. I'd dare say my maintenance schedule trumps yours. I'm cutting close to twice a week.

I honestly can't remember the last time I wasn't in shorts and a short sleeve shirt well into December. I know we're going on 10+ years playing golf every Christmas day: sans one due to heavy rain.

Well, technically I'm at 31.514 (about 75 miles south of Montgomery, so there is that.
And I have a lot of Bahia grass in my yard along with about 2 1/2 acres to cut.

I usually provide myself with outside chores on gameday mornings. I'm too excited to sit still to watch morning football. I DVR the better of the early games and ESPN's Gameday to watch starting a few hours before Bama kicks off. That way, commercials are DESTROYED.

commercials are too horrible to sit through in a regular network boredcast, err, broadcast.

OK, 65 miles...
...while riding what? :hyper:

Huskie, with a 42" deck. About 2 - 2 1/2 hours of just mowing, not counting any weed eating (about once a year) or other things.

My son don't really believe it, but I cut the same yard as a kid with a push mower.

OH, I believe it!!! I used to have to cut my grandparents just outside of Athens and it was HUGE.

Just to make matters worse, your son probably doesn't understand those push mowers were some heavy SOB's. Geez, I still remember how heavy that mower was—I'm guessing cast iron body. Even with the imagination we have as kids there's only so many ways you can make the job different.

Oh yeah, you try a thousand different ways to make a game out of it.

No kidding. I can remember the feeling that's almost akin to defeat: sitting down, looking at what lies ahead, and knowing it's got to be done. After the game, it's "I wonder if it's faster that way." :lance:

Hell, makes me remember this: The Walkman. Couldn't hear it well, but it did help pass the time a little.
