Couldn't agree more

I don't seem him winning any, it's kind of a tradition in Tuscaloosa not to win one.

I agree! Bama has never been about promoting the individual and that is something I have always loved about the Tide.

I honestly don't care whether a Bama player ever wins the Heisman. I've had this conversation a number of times w/ barners where they try to diminish the National Championships we have by asking how many Heisman trophy winners Bama has had. My response is always simple: the Heisman is an award for individual achievement - football is a team sport - teams win National Championships.

Well said.

Besides, I don't like placing some of these crazy/unrealistic expectations on a kid, all it does is set him up for criticism when he doesn't do it.

Exactly.

It's the exact same kind of stuff Nick Saban preaches against. I'm reading his book. :D

He preaches doing the right thing all the time and not setting the bar.

He's my BRO-mance....

Alabama is about team. Always has been. Always will be.

How many Heisman candidates or winners came from the most recent LSU teams from 99'-2007? How many did we have in the 60's 70's 80's 90's? There is a common thread. If it happens...great but I'm good without it. Not sure we need it either. Can be a distraction and the winner usually loses the Championship game.

I just know that it takes a lot of politics to get a player the Heisman. I want one for JJ or Star Jackson or any of the players that are in the running. Wouldn't it be great to win the MNC and the Heisman the same year?
What's the M stand for? Many National Championships?

SnakeFan, I believe it stands for Municipal National Championships. Although I could be wrong.

Honestly, who would be disgusted if a Bama player won the Heisman? Yeah, I'll take an NC, or an SEC championship over a Heisman any day, but I'd take all three if available. And these guys understand the pressure, they're big boys. Most of them can handle themselves with that kind of pressure. They really don't need us to look after them and make sure they're feelings are alright.

M = "mythical" as a reference to the fact that without a playoff system, championships are largely subjective.
