🏈 How many wins will Alabama have this season?

I'm not ready to change my call, yet.

Just like I watched the Tide visit UCLA in 2000, I watched 1990 with a front row seat.

The difference right now? I knew what was going to happen in 2000. The off-season spelled it out clearly.

Here, I have no clue about this season like I didn't in 1990: I could only go by what I knew of Coach Stallings and what I'd seen in practices.

90 was tough. They were actually having a hard time finding a "yes"to coaching job...
Stalling took it....never asked salary....anything...

And certainly didnt start well......or end well ( Louisville)... but better things on horizon

This team we saw Saturday night, with that defense. 4 maybe 5. Not real confident on an epiphany to turn this around. If you think we need a game to “see where we are” and make corrections and adjustments and couldn’t see it at the years end last year, we in trouble.

It really did start well in my view. It wasn't seen on TV and news reports, while better written than today, couldn't tell you what was happening around the building. The staff then was as excited about the team's potential as the staff was a week ago.

We do not have a QB that can play under pressure. Anybody can stand back there and hit an open receiver not pressured. We will not outscore anyone. The defense is horrible, and no punter that can flip field in our favor. Seems everyone plays their A game vs us. We did not play physical football Saturday, made humiliating mistakes, can’t tackle etc. We will be the aUburn of the conference without being physical.
5-7 or 4-8.

I think Deboer will be mentioned in the same breath as Shula.

Nick Saban was a once-in-a-generation type of coach. They are VERY rare and you should feel damn lucky if he's your head coach. BAMA had a great thing for 17 seasons. Yes there were some downs, but they were few and far between. BAMA is down right now (and it looks to stay that way for a long time). And all other teams are looking to keep them there permanently. They don't want BAMA to ever be good, again. BAMA is universally hated by everyone not associated with them. And they've lost any respect they may have had from anyone. BAMA is the laughing stock of college football. And it will be like going back to the years after Coach Stallings and before Coach Saban. They'll be forgotten about.

If ur talking of 90 team.
Dont remember a lot. Except it was humiliating
Think about back then. If you weren't there, or had some 'feed' into the news from Alabama, chances are you'd miss the scores until Sunday morning. The fall I was finishing building the house there were games I knew the score from the local paper, but had to wait until Barnes and Nobles opened to get Birmingham and Tuscaloosa news (pre-2000.) A cold beer, some wings, and two newspapers were a fall Sunday tradition.

Crazy times...had Internet access when I was on campus and when I was here, I didn't. Hell, I paid for some classes at Charleston Southern so I could use their system to access my .edu account at Bama ... so I could log on to the listserv to get Bama news. LOL...one summer it was Gothic Lit.: great class!

We had injuries upon injuries pile up at the front of the season at the skill positions. Defense played stellar until we got out to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl against Louisville. Coach Stallings would come into the offensive meeting room every Monday with these words, “don’t put the defense in a bad position! End every possession with a kick!” He would then turn and walk out.
