The silly season for coaching has just gotten an early start. I think it will challenge to be the wackiest in some time. If not for a healthy buyout, Coach O could add to the ranks of unemployed SEC head coaches. UF, Ole Miss and UT are certainties, Arky could be in the mix, and late season swoons by A&M and aubrun could create openings. Mizzou gets a mulligan, I think. I do think Mullen ends up at UF, putting their coaching search into motion. I think I just mentioned every West Division opponent.
I can't remember if I raised this before, but a buddy and I were talking about head coaches who coached at two different SEC schools. I can't think of a coach who was HC at three SEC schools. Coach Bryant did coach at Kentucky and A&M, but that was well before A&M joined the conference. Other than that, we couldn't think of any who'd served at three. There's Spurrier, Nutt, Muschamp, Orgeron, Saban, Holtz and I'm sure others. If Muschamp continues to mature as a coach, he's probably the best candidate to move to a third SEC gig, with a higher profile than USC. I could see him at LSU in two years.
RTR,
Tim
