🏈 Holy Smokes!!

I'm not sure how they do it, but the Lions seemingly one-up their stupid draft choices every year. I mean, wow. 41 million for someone that may or may not be the starting qb in 3 years?

I know he has talent that would translate well to the NFL, but really?

With all the QB busts over the years, do the Lions hate money that much?

It isn't the Lions fault, it's the NFLPA's. It's absurd how these rookie contracts have gotten out of hand. Shouldn't a player that has proven his talent in the NFL get the big money?

how so...? I don't think they ensures anything, it's been a long time coming and the agreement is about to expire.

its no different than previous years imho.

It's most wishful thinking on my part then a actual reasonable answer. But It's already been demanded by some owners and most fans. It's ridiculous the money players are making while this economy is wasting away. I think it's a true testament as to how out of control player's salaries have become lately in sports. 41 million dollars guaranteed? I mean seriously? You could give $10,000 to countless families and it would make a WORLD of difference. Makes me sick honestly.

Such is the real world...

Good for him. I like to see people succeed. You can argue over if he deserves this or not. The point is moot. I bet not one of you complaining about this would have turned down this contract, if it had been offered to you.

Actually, only 4100 families would receive $10,000. I fail to understand why anyone would harbor such jealousy, perhaps envy, toward a young man who has worked hard and developed his talents to earn this contract. So if anyone offered you 41 million dollars you would give it to 4099 other families. Of course you would keep your $10,000.

I can harbor anything I'd like honestly. In fact, you wouldn't know what I would do with 41 million dollars. I'm the type of person that would take care of my WHOLE family first...then move on to close friends. Just like you think it's not fair to judge a single player(which I wasn't) you are judging me in return.

I'm not going to change my point of view just because they're expected to make this much money. I'm not taking anything away from their talent or hard work, I respect all of the players and what they do for sports. I just think that the money has reached ridiculous amounts in ALL of sports. I understand with the more money teams make the salaries will rise, such is the economy and so on. But it's not just the NFL...it's the Yankees...don't get me started on that mess. :lance:

That's just my opinion folks...no one has to agree with it. ;)
