I read the big long expose on ESPN on the issue with not just agents but people affiliated with them. Now it extends to people calling themselves "financial advisors" (of which, I am), trainers, even relatives. The more desperate things are, and the higher these athletes salaries are getting, the more people come out of the woodwork trying to latch on. Looks like UNC's biggest stars were caught up in this game, and it's going to cost them dearly. Butch Davis likely had some idea that players were being courted by outsiders, but coaches just can't be asked, nor the school, to review every single relationship an athlete has. It seems like a losing battle.
