šŸ“” Greg Byrne's Tweet about student without masks

There are many people who have been exposed and, if tested, would be COVID-positive. But, they are asymptomatic and don't know they are positive. Therefore they may be spreading it and not know it or they just feel like they have a little hangover. I'm sure very few people are intentionally trying to spread the virus.

See my other post - as this is another apparent myth on this topic. According to the World Health Organization, asymptomatic people "RARELY are infectious."

Isn't the WHO the same organization that didn't tell anyone about the virus coming from China?
What is the definition of "RARELY?" 1%? 5%? 10%? 15%?
Why are athletes who are asymptomatic but test positive when they arrive at the beginning of practice (NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA) being quarantined?

Because of the optics and current sensitive societal issues going on. Louis Williams went to a strip club, so he must feel very worried about it all. The Seattle rookie tried sneaking a girl into his room which was against team rules, and lost his job because of it. People aren't as scared as CEO's are.

So what's to say a majority of the people haven't already caught the virus at this point and moved on from it? It is after all down numbers wise as a whole. If it wasn't, then the news would be blowing up on it like the last six months. To me, it's impossible to get a read because we have been fed bullshit numbers on both sides, we have doctors contradicting other doctors, and we have normal every day people that know zero about viruses or the medical side of sickness acting as if they know best for everyone. My biggest question is, why do we not see entire families under one roof getting this virus? Tests are not reliable. Just a lot of questions to be answered before someone like Byrne guilt's me into wearing a mask for football.
I agree with a ton of this in terms of accuracy of numbers etc... Which is why I try and check everything and see if I can see some form of normalization and consistency. I also check sources because most have an agenda.

I also know that numbers going down is never as simple as one thing and masks are not the panacea but they seem to be part of a limited way to manage this. BTW human nature comes to play also, the experts have to give you something well because they are the experts (smh) and they can't say sorry we do not have a solution.

The mask makers decided they needed a way to make money and began producing and marketing all kinds of face coverings. People were more concerned with appearance than effectiveness. No mask is 100% preventive. But they can reduce the probability of exposure and transmission. I recently listened to a doctor explain how to determine if a mask can or cannot help. If you put the mask on and blow, can you feel the air on the other side? If you can, they won't work. If you can't, or if the airflow is significantly reduced, you have a better chance of protection.

I have seen this material several times but no one has been able to explain to me how they came up with the percentages. Would love to see it.

As of today (8/17/2020) there have been 5,382,125 cases in the U.S. with 169,350 deaths. There are 328.2 million people in the U.S. So the majority of the people have not already caught the virus (1.6% have caught the virus and 322,817,875 people have yet to catch it). I agree that many of the numbers have been BS since hospitals are bumping up their numbers for higher compensation. I do know families where three or more have caught the virus.

It has to do with how far the virus can travel and how well a real mask works. I wouldn't take the numbers as absolutes, but the trend of wearing a mask and not wearing a mask works.

If you recall early on they were saying things like if 10 people have tested positive then it is likely at least 80 to 100 really have it. Now that was before there was more testing but the number of confirmed cases has to be on the low end of those who have had it.

Nobody knows the number who have actually ā€œhadā€ the virus, symptomatic or asymptotic

as I posted in another thread I did a 2 week bout with it and spent 2 more weeks quarantined waiting on a negative test The biggest thing I learned dealing with multiple health professionals is that very little is understood about it and the consistency of information between sources is horrible. The most frequent answer I received was ā€œWe/I don’t knowā€
