I don't like the stance either... I hate it, actually. But to me that's just the direction we've been going as a society. It's instances like this that make me more confident in that opinion. Because if there's anything both
@TerryP and I agree on - It's the important of optics. And from my perspective, the ability of a school administration to limit liability and bad optics.
The point I'm making is that washing your hands is for personal health, safety, and cleanliness. I don't see much of a difference in the mask scenario.
And to me, the people who call the shots are that worried. Not about player safety, but liability and "optics". Which has me surprised they haven't called the season yet and believe it's plausible to make it through an entire schedule despite the sensitivity towards these optics.
