šŸˆ Great article in NY Times

Every bit of the article is true. I met folks from all over the country and world for that matter while I was on campus. Scholarships are bringing in the best and brightest, football and sports revenues are being used to build up campus and the facilities. It's been an amazing transition and is continuing around campus as well.

Great story. I sent three daughters to T-Town and they all left with a degree and a husband; don't get any better than that! A few years ago, Bear Bryant scheduled Rutgers and it puzzled me. My father-in-law from New York said it was due to pressure from big boosters and that also puzzled me. He explained that during the depression of the 1930's, a lot of students in New York could not afford to attend college in the northeast so they went to the affordable Univ. of Ala. Now, many of these Bama grads are wealthy members of NY businesses and government and they wanted to see Bama play up north, so Bryant scheduled Rutgers. Just another example of Bama's surprising reach.
